It was good to see young Loretta make another appearance on Justified...I love her character....I hope the writers are creating a little more of Loretta this year.
Rather than being redundant, I agree with favorite scenes listed below, I will comment how much I am beginning to appreciate the Stella Sisters gifted talent. They are fast becoming my favorite music on Nashville. I hope the producers will agree to let Lennon and Maisy (Maddie and Daphne) sing more.
As far as a 'written drama goes" Nashville is...well a tv show after all. Looking past the stories for a moment...musically speaking, Rayna's daughters, Maddie and Daphane are truly gifted....their vocal harmonies are brilliant and as their acting chops develop I can see them taking more of a prominent storyline role. Scarlett is the main reason I watch this show...beautiful...cute...innocent and musically talented. I am in love with this character.
Academy,BAFTA,Critics Choice,Frederick Loewe,Golden Globe, Grammy awards winner will be sorely missed. T-Bone Burnett has set the standard. With or without the maestro I am looking forward to season two of Nashville.
Perfect response @Nicole........I purchased the first three books of, "Game Of Thones" and only halfway through the second book....while watching current episodes. After watching the "Red Wedding," the Kaitlyn chapters now are filled with consternation. I plan to finish the three books and on to book four and beyond...because I hate sad surprises. PS: George R.R. Martin is amazingly creative....and one of the best reads ever!
PS: Miranda, thanks for a great job of reviews this year...it was always a pleasure to stop by to read your thoughts...I love it when the reviewer knows a thing or many about music...you were the Keith Urban of reviewers..well done.
I haven't watch since Burnell was voted off before Lazaro...but wanted to catch the finale...and glad that I did...I was thoroughly entertained. There were a few highlights but a couple of my favorites were Candice and Jennifer Hudson..."Inseparable" wow that was unforgettable, best ever on Idol....I loved Mariah's set...Randy may have started out on BASS but the final shot he was playing a custom acoustic 6 string, see Nicky..the person you have hated all year (Mariah) sure was talented huh?? By the way Nicky...where was your set? Loved Candice and Kree's duet. Loved Angie and Adam Lambert and Jesse J... man...she has some pipes! The Aretha set was good...girls did great backing the Queen. Thoughts...I hated AI 2012 but the top 5 girls were best ever...Candice was deserving. So long, Randy J.
Minnie...I agree with you totally regarding Burnell. He was always so wonderfully interesting. I have never enjoyed a male more on Idol then Burnell. His idiosyncratic symbiosis of vocal and gestures and he always sang on key....I just loved watching and listening, watching the producers set him up for fail has been the worst. Idol is confused in thinking they need to be controversial to be relevant...I love all the girls, each uniquely talented...in terms of marketing however, Janelle will WIN...Janelle was been most consistent the past several weeks and Candace a close second.. Kree's vocals (IMO) lately have just "blended" with the mix..perhaps a pending set up for failure for Kree...I am NOT going to talk about Lazaro...forgot lyrics again during the duet..This is my last comment for TV FAN re: AI.....sorry, but I'd done watching...I'll catch up with the girls on youtube.
I have watched Idol..enough to know, that I don't think the producers err....the "Voters" didn't like Devin's double shot at the BUS DROP for both Lazaro and Burnell...kind of tacky....while the producers are looking at professional behavior as a priority. Lazaro has proven he suffers with remembering lyrics and melody,he should have never made it this far, that trio performance was the worse in Idol history, well, in my opinion, Lazaro was the reason. Sorry Lazaro...and I do agree, that performance by Katharine McPhee was very, very wierd...I kept waiting for something, anything...and it never came..would like to have a few words for the marketing mgr of this duo...I guess we are due for a "SHOCKING" elimination and Lazaro will finally go home.
Obviously one of the best male vocalists remaining is my main man, Burnell..he is so uniquely talented, I believe that if one dude can disrupt the producers challenge for the "girl" quest this year it will be Mr. Taylor. Burnell's idiosyncrasy of phrasing..and tone, the symbiosis of gestures and phrase as golden as any talented artist can have. His tone will sell and sell a a lot in my opinion. Janelle had me in tears..great performance. Kree my other favorite...was solid, unfortunately Kelly Clarkson sang that same song in season 1...so I compared it to Kelly's version...and Kree wasn't close, but decent. Angie chose the wrong song...but she looked good singing it.
