Exactly! Especially one who (as far as she knows) doesn't know anyone!
...or maybe Steph was still mad and saying that to hurt her. She can't say "at least I have a boyfriend" or anything like that, so she came up with something she can hit Jo with. I'm not sure that either one is better than the other so much as being *different*.
...plus I think he's a hottie. :) Give us more chances to look at him.
I actually wonder if it's going to turn out to be a "deliberately-make-Penny's-life-hell" scenario. She'll be a subordinate (?) anyway, so it wouldn't be hard for whoever is paired with her to go out of their way to make her life horrible...or, at least more horrible than the other residents. I know that's a very high-schoolish thing to do but I wouldn't put it past some people.
I thought the same thing, but as RSwiss said, Penny's the face Meredith remembers. I can't guarantee that I wouldn't feel the same way if my husband died.
I didn't like the music either. The two songs I heard..."All About That Base" and another I don't remember the name of...do not sound the same at all when they're sung by someone else to a different beat. Plus, I fail to see how they were relevant to the show. If they're going to pick covers, the least they could do is pick *good* ones.
I know it might not be appropriate in real life, but I like how Callie told the teenager about her own sexuality. I'll bet that girl was relieved to hear that someone understood. Remember, her father disowned her at first, and her mother never really did warm up to the idea. Frankly, I was surprised when Maggie slugged that woman but I was glad she did. I would have thought it would have been Callie, but we're seeing a whole new side of Maggie and I like her.
I think they're probably going to have more "Remembering Derek" moments as the season goes on. After all, this *was* only the first episode of the season. There are the kids, Amelia and the rest of his colleagues to think about...one of *them* might have a despondent moment, especially if they're doing a procedure Derek would have known more about than they do. Just a thought.
We also met Alex's younger brother Aaron several seasons back, around the time Izzie left. He was there getting a hernia operated on and told everyone about how their mother and sister both had schizophrenia and that Alex had basically taken care of them when they weren't being shuttled off into foster care. I liked how Alex told about how he was bullied as a kid. I kind of got the idea he had been bullied by his reaction (or non-reaction) when Callie said he was a bully now. And I could have told Maggie's bullying story...I had frizzy hair and a lisp and got picked on mercilessly because of it.
OMG yes...he's beautiful. Just let him keep his accent this time! Kevin McKidd ("Owen") is actually Scottish but you wouldn't know from Grey's...so let Dan keep his British accent! I'm not sure what he's been up to since ER ended, but Goran Visnjic ("Luka Kovach") and his gorgeous Croatian self would *definitely* work for me! Accent!
