My guess was that the plane did in fact crash, as seen on the news at the end of Season 1, and that Victoria simply walked off before takeoff, while Lydia did in fact die. How Victoria left without raising suspicions among the other passengers, or whether she knew it was going to crash, who knows, but that was my interpretation (obviously, this being Revenge, you can never be 100 percent sure).
As for Emily and Nolan, I agree their relationship might be the best thing about the show. However I always viewed it as more of a friendship, or even brother-sister relationship, rather than a romantic one, therefore he's not in the poll above. But make no mistake, Nolan rules.
A note about ratings - it's an imperfect system and subject to interpretation. I look at it as a fan of this particular show, not in comparison to other shows, with 5 being the best possible episode of that show, and saving that for ones that are truly OMG worthy (or O-EM-G, if you will, in this case). I love Revenge and enjoyed this week, as I said above. But I know based on last season that it will up the ante in the coming weeks as some of these new storylines develop and become even more engrossing. Thanks for reading and for your comments!
I have not actually seen any more of this season. The comments I made regarding future episodes are part my own predictions and part based on interviews I've read (and conducted, at this year's Comic-Con) that I thought might paint the season premiere in an interesting light, relative to the season's broader narrative. Nothing has been spoiled, however, because I truly don't know what happens next!
A few comments re: spoilers ... we apologize if anyone felt this gave away too much. We specifically posted them below the photo with a warning beforehand, and tried not to reveal anything too significant. That said, we'll keep this in mind going forward and try to keep things a little more sparse/vague.
Just the same, having seen the episode, we tried to post these teasers without divulging anything that would take away from viewers' experience, and we're confident we did that. There are countless quotes, moments, plot details and scenes that are not revealed here and that must be seen to be appreciated.
(Tangent: she was sure annoying, wasn't she? First, it's been made clear that ghosts in general do not work on this show. Second, we've been watching for almost three seasons now, thank you. We really didn't need Rose to spell out for Jeremy/us exactly why Elena is so torn and exactly what each brother does for us. Less obvious exposition, please, TVD. Have some faith in the viewers' intelligence here.)

Seriously Rose. Did you read that from the Episode 1.01 synopsis? Not sure we got the gist ... maybe next time write Jer a pro-con list.
We're not pro-anything. Some of our staff members have opinions as expressed in Round Table discussions, but our reviews and show coverage are unbiased.
We also did this same contest for Dair first, as noted above, with over 50 submissions (and won by this fan) last fall:
@ Ted - $2 million is a ton. What I meant was that it didn't seem like so much that one would try to hide it, or that it would change her opinion of him, as he's already a professional earning good wages. If it was their nest egg, like he said, that would make sense, but why hide it?
1. Sorry again about my error regarding Blair reading the letter. Don't know if it was my TV station or if I just missed it trying to get my review up fast for you guys, but it's my fault, and thank you all for pointing out the mistake.
2. Regarding the NY Magazine reality index, we made a decision to stop posting it because we felt it was unfair to them (would be like them posting our Round Table).
3. Thanks, as always, for reading and for your comments!
The TV must have cut away or I must have blinked and missed that. Thanks for pointing it out. The second half of that question remains a mystery however!
