I'd like to think the prodcuers learned their lesson from The O.C.. Accomodate the stars' outside projects lest they want out, the writers write them off, the ratings tank and the show gets canceled and then everybody is out of a job!
Blair: The writers may have been too weak to give you what you deserve, but we're not! Prepare for some 'Frontier Justice'!!
Nate (looking at Dan confused): Are we going to play 'Frontiersville' on Facebook now?
I agree with QueenB - the ratings were probably due to the mislead regarding the takedown of Juliet. I was hoping for something epic and was deeply disappointed that there was nothing.
1. I think Blair's "Gossip Girl isn't a Ouija Board!" was my favorite.
2. It doesn't get any looser than Serena!
3. I feel like I've been a victim of a Gossip Girl ponzi scheme. I've invested four months into Juliet's scheming to ruin Serena's life and now I've got nothing to show for it - no return on my investment! Serena is now my least favorite character.
4. Jack will help Chuck save Bass Industries because Jack has always wanted BI for himself. I'm just surprised that Chuck suddenly cares about BI!
5. I have to agree with Mister Meester - friends, yes; lovers, not seeing it yet.
BQ. Vanessa was missing this week? Didn't notice!
My Bonus Question: Why is Lily still dressing like the actress is still pregnant?
Jenny: I just know there's something dark in me and I hide it. I certainly don't talk about it, but it's there always, this Dark Passenger. And when she's driving, I feel alive, half sick with the thrill of complete wrongness. I don't fight her, I don't want to. She's all I've got. Nothing else could love me, not even... especially not me. Or is that just a lie the Dark Passenger tells me? Because lately there are these moments when I feel connected to something else... someone. It's like the mask is slipping and things... people... who never mattered before are suddenly starting to matter. It scares the hell out of me.
Why do I feel like I've just become a victim of a Gossip Girl Ponzi scheme? Because I've invest four months' time and effort into 'Juliet as the Villianess' only to have her and Serena strut out of rehab and blame Lily for the whole debacle while Juliet gets off scott-free! The writers have seriously damaged the show's credibility and managed to make Serena my least favorite character! Are dangling tidbits of Dair and Jack Bass really supposed to help me get over my disappointment, sustain me for a month and half and make me want to return to watching this show come January 24th?!
P.S. Blake and Eric Damien- I know you love showing off Blake's legs and/or chest, but LEGGINGS AREN'T PANTS!!!
1. I'm going to go a little obscure her and say Juliet's "I'm a firm believer in people facing what they've done." because you KNOW those words are going to come back to bite her in the ass big time!
2. I don't know about the Derena kiss but her post-rehab hair was very real-world.
3. I gotta agree with Gossip Guy here. Man-Bangs (and I love that nickname!) isn't smart enough to know he's being manipulated .
4. Well, the note & pie brought a tear to my eye so yeah, so far so good.
5. As long she's locked up neck to her brother, I don't care! Also, see my answer to #1.
BQ. I don't know that I can put a number on how astonished and disappointed I was that V was so easily manipulated by Juliet, or that V is actually afraid of what B is going to do to her.
My Bonus Question: Which is more unbelievable: A) that they actually used eminem music for the prison meal scene - cliche!; or B) that police were not the first responders to a 911 call? In my state police are the first ones on the scene and make the call for an ambulance if one is needed. That the cops weren't notified by anyone - not the 911 call center, not the hospital, not Serena or her family - astounds me!
How about: Where the hell were the cops?! In my state, when you dial 911 the cops are the first people to arrive on the scene followed by an ambulance if necessary. They make that call! Serena dials 911 and only the ambulance with paramedics show up and NOBODY - not the paramedics, not the hospital, not her family, not even Serena herself - calls the cops about suspected foul play!
Blame the parents - classic! When she turns 18, she'll be an adult, legally independant from her parents and won't have that excuse anymore. Then what will it be? At some point she has to take responsibility for her actions.
I can't really see Jenny wanting to take down Serena though. Blair is the one she's always had problems with. Blair is the one who "banished" her. Unless Jenny is planning a masterful doublecross to stick to to Blair, I don't see this working. I only see them looking even more pathetic. And Ania does have a point in that nobody has ever gone after Vanessa. It's always Vanessa instigating things! Why is she doing this - because Serena has Dan by the balls and V will always be second-best? Sad motivation!
I also felt bad for Ethan Stiefal and Gillian Murphy(?) in this episode. They have to get the award for worst/most under-used guest stars! They were merely props to attempt to lend credibility to the "Ballet Opening Gala". Did they ever say if it was ABT or NYCB's gala? Because these dancers are with ABT, and one would assume that if it was ABT then the dancers would be backstage getting ready. If it was NYCB, why would these stars come out in support of the competition?
Bonus Question: Did anyone else expect Chuck's head to pop up from the bath bubbles while Blair was in the tub like it did from her duvet cover while they were in bed? That would have been funny!
1. I'm going to go with Dorota's "If the KGB can't make me talk then Chuck Bass has no chance.". I love it when the help alludes to a mysterious past more exciting than our main characters!
2. Okay, was I the only one who caught it when Juliet said Ben "was 26 and a teacher" at the time of the incident that landed him in jail? We "know" that whatever happened was before the beginning of the series, which would hypothetically mean while Serena was at boarding school. Serena's 14/15, Ben's 26, she's a student, he was a teacher, he's now in jail. I'm thinking there was an inappropriate relationship between the two of them and he got caught. Hence he's out to destroy Serena. Now given that Serena had a dalliance with her professor Colin, which she ended once Colin was no longer her professor (the forbidden is always tempting to S), it leads me to believe Serena wasn't so innocent in whatever happened with Ben. But I also think Juliet could and should be using Serena's interest in Colin as proof for Colin to see that whatever Ben did wasn't entirely his fault.
3.I'm completely new to the Vanessa Uselessness Scale. I'm going to give her a three for figuring out where Juliet really lived and breaking into her apartment. Juliet gets a 10 on the Stupidness Scale for not realizing V just left with the memory card she was waving around two minutes earlier.
4. I'm still all for a Date bromance here. I actually felt bad for Dan in this episode! S repeatedly stepped on his heart with her six inch stilletos!
5. Where did the Non-Judging Breakfast Club come from? Was that actually used in the show? I think we should name the Jenny/Juliet/Vanessa alliance JJV for Junior Junior Varsity, because that's what they are if they want to go toe-to-toe with NJBC! They need a ringer or two like Georgina and Carter if they have even a hope of being successful (and part of me would secretly like them to be even if I know they won't be).
Chuck: You can have the Chia Pets but I get to keep the Chia Heads.
Blair: Only if I get the Gone with the Wind collection. You can keep the creepy Wizzard of Oz dolls.
Chuck: Deal! Now regarding the Christmas Village.....
Blair: Sidebar!
Anne Archibald returns? AWESOME! I miss her. But I wonder how effective her foundation is going to be given her reputation for aiding and abetting her fugitive husband......
1. It really doesn't have much impact but....I liked Eleanor's comment to Juliet "You did a great job with FNO. Come help with the cater's trays." Just a reminder Jules, you really aren't one of them! In the end you're still a worker bee!
2. Not the hottest Chair scene ever. That's gotta be when Chuck took Blair's virginity in the back of his limo while she was still his best friend's girlfriend. That had a certain shock value added to it!
3. Not convoluted, but I think they hired some newly unemployed soap opera script writers cause this Ben-&-Juliet-destroy-Serena storyline is dragging out/on way too long!
4. All middle class people (aka the viewers) know that the Ivy Leagues campuses are divided into two groups - those that deserve to be there cause they have the brains and those that can afford to be there because they have the money to make donations for years on end. So it shouldn't really be surprising Nate & Serena are at an Ivy - they don't fall into the first category but definitely into the second. Having said that, the hardest part to believe? That Dorota was a guest at the party instead of working the party! Since when?!
5. The Juliet-Ben-Colin storyline is BORING! It will only become intriguing when they get around to revealing why they are out to destroy her!
BQ: It's probably something kinky like pictures of them in each other's underwear or a sex tape. We know they were into games & fantasies.......
I miss 'Reunion'! Did anybody here watch that show on FOX? They canceled it before the season was half over with. But that show was great! You really needed to pay attention to each episode in order to know what was going on. I miss television shows that really challenge you to use your brain!
