Since I have not seen the video, I am sceptical that it was S's dream. It could've been B's dream, or maybe in some sick way, part of Chuck's coma-dream.
Dan: I know the notion of you falling in love with me is like trying to hit a bullet with a smaller bullet while wearing a blindfold, riding a horse....but we're going to try!
Blair: Do I smell......MANURE?!?!?
Serena's leather shorts/sheer blouse combo and Blair's 1970s colored ensemble were new lows for GG! Chivy however, was the prettiest debutante to grace this show! She looked classy! And I do believe Rufus has fully committed to the UES trophy husband role. He should impeckable manners at the debutante ball. I was very impressed.
1. I'm going to go with Lily's unconditional love speech to Chuck, but only because she's never been that expressive to her own biological children. The rest was so......predictable.
2. The first half of season 5 and it's finale were truely disappointing. Chuck, Blair and Dan had the only memorable storylines here. The wardrobe suffered immensely. And really, when a character has to resort to revisit old GG blasts about herself, I think it's a sign the show is dying.
3. Copout in storyline and production values. I get that they were wearing seatbelts and it looked like the brakes were cut, but it didn't look like the car was going very fast, the car was only turned 90 degrees and it hit a cement barrier. I don't get how that all equals Chuck & Blair's injuries.
4. Dan's The Man, and always will be. Nate can only dream of being The Man like Dan is. Dan had his opportunity to tell Blair how he felt and he still chose her happiness over his and to help her get back with Chuck.
5. I don't think Chivy really outted herself. I think her "family" is still gonna believe she's Charlie and think she's just feeling guilty about the GG blast, etc. Lily & Rufus had a meaningful conversation? Somhow I missed that! So that leaves Tripp turning on his family. I just don't get how people jump to Tripp cut the brakes on "Nate's" towncar. All for the sake of being "the future of the family" and winning an election? I don't see it.
6. Well, Diana is obvious a Bass. Whether she's Chuck's mom or aunt is yet to be seen. I'm really hoping she doesn't donate blood though, because I'd rather have Dan Humphrey's blood running through Chuck & Blair.
7. My big prediction is GG pulls a 'Bones' and Chuck has a coma-dream episode that involves Blair running through the streets of New York in an off-the-rack Vera Wang wedding dress (because I refuse to believe that is her actual royal wedding dress). Now whether that coma-dream episode is the 100th episode and involves the "party where the whole cast is dancing and everybody is dressed like somebody else" or whatever the hint was, is debatable as the 100th episode is two weeks after the mid-season return. Chuck will survive this, but come out of it a truely changed man.
Cece: A guy named Steve Rubell had a dream: To throw the best damned party the world had ever seen and to make it last forever. He built a world where fantasy was put up as reality and where an 80-year-old disco queen could dance till dawn. Where models mingled with mechanics, plumbers danced with princes. It was a place where all labels were left behind. A place where there were no rules.
Cece: I had two husbands, one was too short one was gay. Still sweetie if you want to know how to peck a dwarf on the cheek as he's walking out of the house to the disco in your dress , then I'm your girl.
@thereal-R: It's a very good theory! But I think such a huge jump would be a massive screwing-over of the viewers who want to see them get back togethor, etc.
And it really irks me how wrong they've gotten the whole royal wedding thing. Any commoner marrying an heir to a throne would be getting married in HIS country (not hers), wearing a CUSTOM dress (not off-the-rack Vera Wang), with a cake by the palace chefs (not Sylvia Weinstock). Did they not take notes this past year when there were two MAJOR royal weddings, one of which was actually the Prince of Monaco?!
1. Nothing really jumped out at me as a memorable or worth quoting.
2. Yes, Blair is kidding herself in think she can "fix" Louis or change him into a Chuis hybred. But then all the characters are kidding themselves about something.
3. I guess so. I thought Grandpa V and Tripp looked awfully guilty, like they were in on the manufactured scandal and they thought they could manipulate Nate and his little paper into unwittingly playing along.
4. I'll go with CeCe and Lily believing Chivy. We got glimpses in the last episode that Nate might not be as dumb as we think, but it was still a little surprising he could put Maureen's plan togethor so quickly. As for Serena's Studio 54 outfit, she gets worst dressed. It's not because The Orbs of Power & Beauty or her macaroon are on display as usual. The hairdo completely ruins what could have been a knock-out outfit.
5. I could go for Team Chivy because I feel bad for her that she just wants a family to love and love her. But can't we just drop this whole thing and move on?
6. What's Twitter? But I do love the muppets and haircut suggestions.
7. Car wreck. Miscarriage. Dan and Blair share the same blood type, so Blair gets transfused with Dan's blood, and maybe one of his kidneys. Max brings the real Charlotte to town. Chuck or Nate falls in love with her. Serena wears a burka.
1. Favorite quote is Chuck to Dan " HAve you ever thought it might be your own fault?" because really, you could say that to every character on the show at some point!
2. Loved all the Dan & Chuck scenes, but totally didn't think Chuck was a 'Matrix' kind of guy!
3. Louis can't redeem himself, but no way is Blair going to give up her shot at becoming a real-life princess.
4. If I hadn't read the round table before watching the episode I'd say watching Nate getting played for the fool is PAINFUL to watch. But with Eric & Steve's theories in my head, I'm thinking there's a good chance NAte could be Gossip Girl, NAte is smarter than we think he is, and he'll make The Spec-TATE-ter into a respectable newspaper. Although I'd like someone to verify by watching the first four seasons that in fact Nate has never sent a text to GG.
5. Ivay has already started telling the truth, so I'd like to see Blair in jeans again. I believe she's worn them a time or two.
6. Nate & Louis are tech savy? It's easier to believe the Waldorf building doorman is getting fired because there's no way S remembered Max's last name to put him on the list of people to let in.
7. Miscarriage.
So I bet Chivy plays the 'I told him I was Ivy when I was off my meds' or 'I didn't want him to know who I really was and be after my money' cards. Love blair's reaction at her prole bridal shower! Nate attempting to be sneaky and attack GG is just SAD! We all know he's not smart enough for that!
Are we sure this was the Gossip Girl set and not the set of a Vera Wang commercial? Because Leighton is the spokemodel of a VW perfume and she is wearing a VF dress. And can I just say how disappointed I am if indeed Blair Waldorf wears a VW dress? Royals-to-be get custom one-of-a-kind creations designed by top tier couture designers, not off-the-rack dresses for the masses! Plus Eleanor is a designer! Couldn't she make her daughter something with VW's help (similar to what Ralph Lauren did for his daughter Dylan)? This is the true mark of how much the budget and production quality has slipped on this show!
1. They had me at "'Phantom of the Opera' sex game". I'm still trying to wrap my head around that one.
2. I'm not sure there was anything to like in this episode. The Round Table members seem to be reaching for things to like.
3. The "masked ball" was the most disappointing thing. That was the least glamourous, least fun party GG has thrown! I'm sure it's a much better experience in person, but it didn't translate well onto the tv screen.
4. I agree with Courtney. Yes he has changed because he realizes it's in his best interest to change, but I also think he knows deep down it might help him win Blair back. So it's not entirely selfless.
5. Diana was manipulating Ivy & Max too. I guess I find it hardest to belive Iyy & Max mistaking each other for Nate & Serena. HELLO - There's obvious height differences! People don't magically shrink or grow a foot in the dark.
6. I'm not really sure what Grandpa V's plan is, because I don't really see Nate's image being rehabilitated. He's still banging older women, man-whoring around, and not really working. Seriously, Serena has done more work for Diana than Nate has, and Chivy has them both beat!
7. Refresh my memory again about the various masquerade themes? Season 1 = very memorable. Season 4 had Serena getting roofied at the Saints and Sinners ball. What was Season 2 and 3 then? I guess one never forgets their first time! Season 1 set the bar that the other seasons have failed to live up to.
BQ: What was Monkey doing that he wouldn't come when Chuck called him? My money is on humping one of Chuck's pillows. He is Chuck's dog after all.
