Serial Killer or not, it was still murder in cold blood. Tv shouldn't teach people that revenge is alright no matter what. Killing someone because he killed someone else doesn't make you a better person. I'm sure Lisbon will be devastated. She always said she wanted to stop him and/or arrest Jane and now she wasn't even there. @Keith Vlasak, Jane is a consultant - he couldn't have arrested Red John. So there was no "resisting arrest".

Great finale. Great acting especially by Tunney and Baker. Whenever these two are together on screen it just works.
Yeah wow this is just so typical. "If you don't like jane go watch another show" blabla. I never said I didn't like him but it's obvious to me that the show wouldn't do as good if the team wasn't there as well. Too bad so many people just don't get how many others watch for the dynamic of the characters and NOT for Simon Baker.
You should read my posts more carfully before attacking me.
Why did the writers write the team in when they never intend to devlop them? The show could very well be just about Jane solving crimes ALONE. But no they wrote in a team, so they should also use it.
@Lnsy Yeah and some normal viewers are very biased and don't do Jane or the show any favor too. The way you talk about Lisbon just totally confirms you have no idea what your talking about and how essential she is to the show and the character of Jane. You think she's cruel to jane? Really? Have you followed the same show as me? have you seen what she has done for him? Risking her career a couple of times, stikcing out her neck for him, taking all his shit? And he never gives anything back.He ows her BIG time.
You also say you don't read other forum so why making an assumption that's just not true? Just because I post my opinion here you make silly statement like "Lisbon fans are so biased". That what I would call BIASED my dear.
I stand by my opinion for more Lisbon next season. I hope the writers give her a love interest.
Red Badge is one of my alltime favorite episodes of The Mentalist. Good story, awesome acting by Robin Tunney and great team moments!
I want more episodes focusing on Lisbon. She's such an interesting and complex character yet we know so little of her. I hope we'll learn more in upcoming seasons cause Robin deserves to shine with her performance.
Cho was great but I want more Lisbon!
My highlight always is Robin Tunney as Lisbon and there was just not enough in this episode. But is it just me or does she get prettier with every episode?
What I found a bit disappointing was that they missed the opportunity to give us at least a little more character information on her when it was so easy. Remember Season 2 when Jane tried to guess which instrument she played in highschool? I thought it would have been perfect to tell us the secret if it had been her playing the instrument by the end. But no it was once again Jane, cause obviously we are meant to believe he can just to EVERYTHING.
He's the lead that's clear but if it wasn't for Lisbon I wouldn't watch.
So please writers a bit more focus and her next season! Robin is a great actress and deserves it.
Jane told Lisbon before that she'd look good with short hair. That was in Season 1 so this was a nice continuity.
Also you should google pics of Robin with pixie cut. If someone can pull off that look then it's her (or watch her in "Supernova" or "End of Days").
The ending scene was unnecessary really. We know dating within the unit is forbidden so how would they continue their relationship next season? Also if Rigsby was happy for her he shouldn't have messed with her head before the wedding. Low blow really. And badly written by the writers. Come on, get over this pairing- we've been there and there's no reason to revisit.
They're off so much better as friends.
Imho Lisbon helped Jane because she now knows about the mole still being in the CBI. She wants to catch him as badly as Jane does and she knows how hard it is to do so (with RJ involved anyway) so I don't think that shows any "feelings" she has for Jane. More like they both trust each other more...or beginning to trust.
My favorite scene was between Van Pelt and Lisbon in the hospital. These two have great chemistry together and I waited for a long time for the writers to develop a stronger bond bond.
Anyway I thought they were just cute.
Also the Cho/Lisbon scenes were awesome but I'm glad Lisbon is back as the leader. You go girl.
where was Currie Graham in this? He's credited for this but only appears in the episode before this one.
