Jschoi....exactly, I agree, they said Lori was going to be a new team member appointed by the governor, they have not said that about Catherine being on the team. She is still in the Navy and it keeps their connection with the military since Joe will be gone and Steve is a reservist not on active duty.
They refer to Michelle as reprising her role as Lt. Catherine Rollins.
I have to agree that Steve/Kono should be nothing more then boss/employee. People think that because Grace Park is older, that the character she portrays is older. She is only out of the academy by a couple of years which would make her around 24, McG is 36. Kono calls him boss. Steve is involved with Catherine. Hopefully Kono will get involved with someone and this will go away.
I don't think people need to be concerned that the Steve/Catherine relationship will be the focus of the show. The show is about the task force and the McG family history which is how it was formed as 5-0. Just because Michelle will be a regular does not mean that every scene will be her in Steve's bed. Give the writers some common sense and credit. This is about the team, they are portraying human beings, so relationships outside of 5-0 should be shown, but how often do we see Malia, Grace, Rachel, or Gabby. They have stories, but they don't take over the show.
@Jeffrey......I respect that you liked Lori, and I'm sorry for your sake, that your favorite character is gone. But please don't compare the Lori character with the importance of any of the core 4. I think you are actually the one who needs to keep up with reality. They tried getting a 5th member, and it was a disaster, TPTB are not going to try that again so soon. If they did and it worked out, how would you feel. That would mean it was the actress and not the character. So I would be careful what you wish for trying to teach us a lesson for not liking Lori.
It would be wrong to have Catherine on the team, she is in a relationship with Steve and those never work out. Catherine will probably still be in the Navy doing her thing, being McG's girlfriend, and helping out the team with her connections. That keeps the show hooked with the military, which is still a part of what the show is about.
@Jeffrey SK.....seriously? I think you might be going for the shock factor, but not buying it. The core 4 have contracts, any one of them being killed off would kill the show. Michelle Borth coming on as a regular does not mean that she will be a 5th member of the team or will take another member's place. She is still in the Navy, and still has the connections to help the team out. As far as her taking a smaller part after Combat Hospital, Masi Oka had a pretty big part on Heroes and now is seen on most of the episodes, but does not have one of the larger parts. Hawaii is a big attraction, as well as not being an umemployed actress for however long.
Chin is not going anywhere.
Steve/Danny relationship is not going anywhere. That's their bread and butter. I love that Michelle is coming on as a regular. I don't think she will be a team member. I had heard that the USS Enterprise in real life was being decommissioned in December, this is the ship that Catherine was suppose to be on, so that maybe how they get her on the island permanently. A lot of people are assuming she is going to one of the 5-0 team. I think that she may help 5-0 with her connections, but that she will remain in the Navy. I love the Catherine character and want to see her with Steve more, but I still don't want a 5th team member and I would hope that they would not do that. None of the Core 4 are going anywhere, they all have contracts.
I've reading mostly good feelings about Catherine joining the show as a regular. There are a couple of opposing opinions, but so far good. I have also read that people are afraid that once she is shown more often that people will be upset like with the Lori character. I don't think so. This is a totally different situation, she is already established as to what she is, and I would hope that TPTB, would use her as they use Max.
The ship that Catherine is suppose to be on, the USS Enterprise, is going to be decommissioned in December of this year in real life, so maybe they will use this to get her on the island in some other capacity.
@Martinelli.....thanks for letting us know. I just went to check it out myself. I love the Catherine character and will love to see more of her. I wonder if she will still be on the ship or will be transferred to the island in some other capacity. I wonder if she will be like Max, a regular, but not in every episode. Oh well, I like this, glad to see McG have someone steady in his life at this point especially since I think Joe is the one being killed off.
@Jschoi.....I loved the pictures of Michelle and Grace Park together at the charity. I'm actually waiting for Combat Hospital to come to netflix, maybe since its at amazon, will show up soon.
@Amazingalex.....Yes, 4/2 is pre-empted due to basketball. 2.20 is scheduled for 4/9, then another 2 weeks of repeats. We will see the last 3 episodes in a row starting 4/30/12. Then one long wait until the middle of September. At least they all get a long rest, hopefully, before they start filming in July.
I agree that Mary and Marshall share a deep friendship, and Marshall certainly has shown he cares more deeply for Mary in the past. I would not mind them getting together since this is the last season, but I don't know if that is in the cards. Abigail and Marshall make a cute couple, especially with the dog, all they need is the white picket fence and some kids. I don't see Mary giving that to Marshall. I think Mary will change some, children do change your life and in a way that even a significant other can. I believe that Norah will be the most important thing in her life, and her job will eventually take 2nd. Stan was just so cute, I loved that he got the guts to ask the dance instructor out. I also liked that Delia showed her true colors and gained Mary's respect and trust in the process. I don't remember them showing a person in Witsec before that ended up going crazy, I'm sure it happens a lot more then we think. I know I might end up the same way if that were to ever happen to me. I also had the same thought as the reviewer, that the closing of the Albuquerque office is what they are going to end the show with. I will truly miss this show.
@Jschoi....you are right, there is a lot of filming in Canada. However, other then the HGTV shows that are based there, there are not a lot of fictional shows that make it down here. Flashpoint was great, but the network dropped it, now its on a cable channel. Thats why we have so many Canadian actors over the past several decades that have come to the U.S., its just more exposure. Alex is from Australia, where there is a lot of filming, but he knew that he needed to be in the U.S. and it worked out for him. I'm not saying that the U.S. is better, just more numbers and exposure.
@Martinelli......True he is not a law enforcement officer, but he could be considered, "one of their own". I don't think it is, Joe or Lori are my best guess. They have us talking early. Since we will only see one new episode in the next 5 Mondays, they are keeping the show in the news.
It also takes some of the heat off of people talking about Alex's situation, and back on the show.
I can't imagine it being one of the core 4. That would kill the show, or at least the ratings. There are rumors about Grace Park maybe wanting to be closer to her husband in Canada, but in this era of airplane travel and telecommuting I think that she and her husband would be able to work something out where he can run his business traveling back and forth. There are more acting jobs based in the U.S. then there are in Canada. So unless I hear it from her, I'm going to assume she is not going anywhere. I think its possible that they leave us to believe one of them is dead, and they aren't. I think either Joe or Lori are more likely. I hoping to be surprised, but not at the cost of the original 4, I can get over anyone else.
Although Max and Kamekono would be missed a lot.
I actually thought from the start that the vietnam vet had to be the father or grandfather of Tuan, so I don't think it came out of nowhere. This story line has been done over and over with the vietnam vets. I did like the episode, and did not mind that it was not centered around someone on the team's personal lives. I like those, but we don't need it every week. I did notice Callen's expressions while the reunion of father/daughter/grandson was done. It makes me feel for him, and the loss of that family connection is really starting to show. I loved the scene with Hetty and Callen while she is explaining the tatoo, and of course the basketball scenes were hilarious.
I liked this episode. Not one of the greatest, but still kept me entertained. I did not want Gibbs/Ryan to get together, but this week the character was not as secretive, and it was obvious that she told Gibbs more about her life then we the viewers know. I could take or leave the relationship, the writers certainly left the door open for more episode with Dr. Ryan in the future. I agree with the reviewer, its nice to see an age appropriate person with Gibbs.
What is the problem with people and JLC with her Activia commercials? It has nothing to do with her performance. If thats all you can see when you see her, then maybe she is not the one with the problem. Let it go.
So the Australian clip said Alex would be back for the first part of the crossover, then they are filming that this week. If what I found on spoiler TV is right, then Alex won't be back until they are filming 2.22 the first week of April. Let the rumors begin.
I got this off of spoiler TV. I don't know if this is right or what Amazingalex read. I guess this is the next thing to talk about, when is Alex coming back:
Blue Lagoon is scheduled to film on Maui the first week of April … A walk-on role for Brooke Shields‘ original co-star, Christopher Atkins, is in the works …
And that same week should find Alex O’Loughlin back on the set of Hawaii Five-O along with bosom buddy and stand-in Sam Gould, who really knows his way around a film set … He’s the son of actor Elliot Gould. Great news: The show’s been renewed by CBS for a third season … Way to go!
The ratings have been down slightly for all shows in this time slot. There has been a lot going on, and with all the repeats, (which is the networks fault not H50), people tend to get frustrated and move on to something else. Although H50's numbers have gone down slightly, they seem to win either the demographic, or the total number of people, or both since the second half of the season. The carguments and bromance are a big part of the show, the producers and writers know it, the actors know it, and most of the fans know it. Others may have a differing opinion and that is their right. A sense of humor is a personal thing, if someone does not like it, then they will watch something else.
You can't have all the answers at the beginning of the show. Yes we all knew that they were the '63's and that Lucy was one of them before the rest of the characters found out. They give a little clue each time, but if you give it all at once, then the show ends. There are over 300 63's, we get one of their stories an episode. We still don't know how they did all this and where these people are being kept before they are let loose out on the streets, or why they are being let loose. I hope this show makes it to next season, you can only have so many talent and cartoon shows on one network, but I'm not counting on it.
I don't find the character of Danny irritating or whiny as some people say. If it was not the banter between McG and Danny, then I'm not so sure the show would have been re-newed for the 2nd season. That was a big part of what got people interested. When they went away from that in the beginning of this season, the show suffered. They have gotten back to it and the Core 4, in the last 6-7 episodes. Recurring characters and guest stars are great and needed, but the draw is the 4 team members and their chemistry with one another. I think it has finally hit its stride this season, and is a main reason why it was re-newed for a 3rd season. Danny and Steve need to keep busting each others chops, its not the only draw, but probably the most important. We also need more Chin and Kono, which is what was being said last season. With that being said, since January, they have gotten back to what attracted us in season 1, and the stories have been better, and less disjointed.
I loved the scene at the beach. Knowing that in real life Scott Caan is an expert surfer, and Alex is just beginning, having them switch for the show was very funny. Danny making fun of Steve slamming his surf board in the sand, and then dragging it on the beach as he is leaving, very funny.
Loved seeing Mary back, she does seem to get into trouble a lot, but that's what big brothers are for. I did like that they did not drag out that she was innocent and proved it pretty quickly. I am hoping that since sister Mary is going to be coming to island as a flight attendent, then we will see her more often in season 3. I would to see more of that relationship with Steve. Overall, very entertaining episode.
@Jim....you forgot to mention that there was no chasing of a suspect. He did step back and aim his gun at March, but Fryer just shot him, no chase.
I loved the ending, about half way through we knew that Asner's character was still going to be bad, but to shoot the girl that was a surprise and well done. I also love right before he shoots her, they started out with March in 1975 saying the line and then March in 2012 finishing the line, "never turn your back on the buyer". Very well done.
I liked that Alicia stood her ground and asked for a raise. She is the one who is winning cases, and yes they are using her because of being married to Peter. I thought it was a raise and a bonus that she got.
As far as the house. I don't think she needs that big of a house either. I'm assuming she is over the "I want more children age", the ones that she has will be going off to college soon.
I think Kalinda is hiding something else. I'm not sure it has anything to do with Peter, but I guess they are setting up something for the finale. I am glad to see that they decided to re-new this show for another season.
I think Danny also. He was the first one chosen by Steve to be on the team, so I would think that makes him 2nd in command. Even though I think the whole team acts as one, Steve is the boss, but he does not push it very often. Like Callen, and the rest of the team on NCISLA.
@amazingalex.....it takes me a few episodes before I get invested in a program or stop watching it. NCISLA is on Tuesdays at 9:00. I'm being cautious and not expecting Alex back until the finale. That way, if he is back sooner then I'm thrilled, and won't be disappointed as much if he's not.
I'm sure he's doing whatever he needs to do, and like we both said before, we have been assured there is a 3rd season which makes it easier. He will definitely be there then, and back to his old self.
