Because we love Ed Westwick's whisper so much that if we're not stubbornly rooting for Chair, Ed screentime will be reduced to 0.4 minute per episode.

Also, as a matter of fact, the Chair "crapology" was the only scene I saw from the episode, just to see how it was. I wish it wasn't so lame. It was not thorough at all, to me it seemed like he had wrote a list of the things he had done to her, so he kept repeating it until he remembered everything from the list. Then he came there and spouted like it's poetry and Blair went all "aww". They are constantly throwing this "redeemed Chuck" into our faces when all I see is him being immature one more time. Words are not that important, what's much more important - his actions. And he never did anything good for her, except "letting her go", losing her or whatsoever.
Couldn't agree more. His apology cracks me up. It's literally a list of HALF the things he's done to Blair with the word sorry.
If this is the best the writers could do to redeem Chuck Bass then god bless them.
