    What I was wondering about is, everyone's assumin the 12 hybrids that were unsired will be used for the sacrifice, but wasn't the amount of council members that died in the premiere also 12? Both Shane and the Pastor uttered the words "we are the beginning".

    @BN, which ratings are you referring too. I'm referring to the 18-49 demo rating, which is the main demo, which I get from tvbythenumbers.

    Is it really such a big deal what the magic is called, it's really a minor issue and TVD has done a lot worse. @Kiddie Pool, because it's not dark magic, it's supposed to be darker than dark magic.

    @Elena, actually it wasn't, it scored a 1.2 in it's demo, both this season and previous ones have scored. I wouldn't say the ratings drop was due to Klaus not appearing or angry SE fans, did anyone even know he wasn't going to appear? I think it was probably just po'd DE fans that dropped out.

    @BN, that's actually what i wanted to discuss in this thread , other plot points in this episode not the love triangle since there's already a thread , multiple actually, for this. I find that when the writers focus on their main story and let the romance play around the main story, the show is usually better. That's actually the problem I have with a lot of supernatural shows these days, because when the plot focuses too much on romance the characters tend to become too selfish, which isn't a bad thing, but they reach a point where it's too much for me to handle.

    I wouldn't attempt to understand any of the sappy romance parts JPG spews at us. The writers do better with straight up mythology, the whole sire thing is only a way for the love triangle to continue. The ratings really went down for this episode. How I wish the writers would take this as a hint that people are over the triangle. This is a supernatural series, there's so much more to write about, just let Elena pick a damn brother or better yet herself and be done with till the second half of season 5.

    @BN, only from your moral standpoint would what happened between Damon and Elena be classified as rape. It was icky, but I definitely don't think that was rape. @halde, I really didn't find her that annoying, Damon's done some pretty despicable things, her judgement of him wasn't unfounded, although she could've been a little more tactful. I just hate that the writers completely dismissed the events of kill or be killed, like it never happened.

    After last week's trainwreck episode and a really pointless and useless thread discussing the disgusting main triangle and why the main 3 are such sluts and sinners this IMO effectively bounced back and got me excited for the mid-season finale. Unlike a lot of other viewers, I actually enjoyed the sire twist, since it was an effective way to keep the triangle going(since the writers are obsessed with it even though it's overstayed its welcome) and I don't care who Elena bumps uglies with in the end, so I really enjoyed this episode and it's exploration into the bond. I'm so intrigued with this Shane guy and I really hope they reveal more of his agenda next week. Also, wasn't it refreshing to finally see Bonnie with a smile and having fun? Since Bonnie has always been near and dear to my heart, I can't wait to see what this "expression" will lead to. Also seems they could spit on DEVELOPMENT last week because as suspected, they didn't let it die anyway and the hardcore fangirls are still going to keep hope

    I wouldn't't be a TVD fan if I didn't at least try to defend it, because I think you guys are going a little overboard with this whole sire-thing. 1. I think I speak for like 90% of the people when I say that no one here cares about the main triangle. So why the f**k is there such a huge uproar about this, here of all places, in the first place? We''ve known along time ago that JPG would never let the triangle go, so does this development really come as such a shock? We all hoped the triangle would take a break after the last episode and while this development was really risky ,and I really think they can't afford to P.O. DE fans it was actually a very bright(using the term loosely) way to keep it going because.... 2. Although many would argue, when the sire thing was first introduced it was said that it can happens with all vamps, albeit very rare. So, no, this thing didn't't come of the blue, it was actually mentioned, although very briefly and only dorks like me would''ve picked up on it. 3. I'm not a Damon supporter but please do not act like you guys are saints. You've had the hots for a person for I don't know how long. Now this person is basically coming on to you and professing all their feelings to you and you're gonna say, we can't because of this or that circumstance, let's pick it up in a couple of months when the circumstance is cleared. 4. Kitty I would like to take ride on your train of thought because I would really love to know how you got from the DE sex scene to rape. But I don't want to start the same convoy you just had with Halide so just ignore this point. 5. The flaws you guys are mentioning over and over again have been a problem with this show since the dawn of it's existence, can someone please make it clear how the problems are now somehow more-so besides the fact that because the triangle is highlighted and getting more screentime, because we got used to this treatment last season. 6. Why are you guys looking at the episode so glass-half-empty. Besides all the DES bleh an KC blah, which granted was a whole chunk of the episode, there we're actually some great developments IMO, like Jeremy's entire story as well as the fact that the professor wants to unsire all of Klaus' hybrids. Anyway, rant over, I can't believe I spend so much time defending this show, but really when Ireading this thread I'd swear it was 21 December, and all over the last five minutes of an entire episode as well as something that been an issue we had with the show always .
