Dare to Dair?
I am ashame to admit I rewatched a couple of Dawson's Creek episodes just today (I am on holiday, so yeah, lot of free time lol) and I specifically watched the episodes in which Joey and Peacy come to term with their relationship and damn...it's so like Dan and Blair. Even the first kiss: he made the first move, she denied any feeling so he did the same and they decided they were "just friends" until they couldn't pretend anymore but then they couldn't be together because of Dawson and Andy. They very often talk about changing the established equilibrium forever. Not to mention the fact that they grew closet because they had no one else and Peacy encouraged and comforted her always along the way. I was like: I know why I shipped them, they are so Dan and Blair (except these two have even more things in common!).Posted 4/3/2012 6:43:18 PM # -

Dare to Dair?

I'd swear it's Leighton and Penn here and not Dair <3

@Where's Waldorf, I agree on that too. I think Blair and Serena started switching roles in 4x19, when Serena went crazy over Dan and Blair fake kissing and Blair explicitly told her "You prefer when you’re the one in the spotlight. But it’s my turn now. You could have a taste of what it’s like to be in my shadow for once. Now if you’ll excuse me, my prince awaits".
That was the turning point and since then Serena started paying the consequences of her lightness and Blair started behaving inconsiderately: agreeing to marry Louis, sleeping with Chuck, hiding the pregnancy, not wanting to face the paternity results, than escaping with Chuck again, the pact with God, to mention a few...my opinion is that she already started paying the consequences though, since the marriage occurred. So my hope is that now that she hit the ground she'll rise again, hopefully.
Of course I may be biased, but I don't see Dan as one of those episodes because being with Dan has never been an easy choice or her childhood dream...Actually, it's shared opinion among Dair fans that her confusion and weird behavior started out after the Dair kiss in 4x17, because she rejected the idea she could ever like Dan. Of course there's no proof of this. It's just our perspective.
As for Serena, as you said, she's growing on me too. In 4x19 I was like "Yeah, you got what you deserved Serena!" but now I really think she's facing the whole situation very maturely and I hope things will get better for her. She still doesn't know what or who she wants though, but I feel like she needs something new - and Gossip Girl is still not the answer. We'll see...anyway, she's trying which is definitely new for her.

Swept aside; the Nate chronicles
And we are going to see more Natie in the next episode judging from the promo! I am glad he's back! ;)

That's totally understandable after she changed her mind so many times, I agree. But that's also what keeps the show still interesting for everyone, so I also get why they do it. She seems to have made her choice this time because she looked pretty confident when she did it and this time there was no obstacle that could have led her to denial, but at the same time for Chair and Dair fans an hint of hope, for the first ones, and fear, for the second, still stays.
But Chuck and Dan apart, I am convinced that once she'll obtain her divorce from Louis, she'll start planning her life with a new perspective. She learned her lesson that childish dreams don't come true, or better when they do it's not like fairytales. She'll be more down-to-earth, I can tell. The fact that she's dating Brooklyn boy could be an incentive perhaps (but that's only a Dair fan opinion of course).

At this point I doubt any of the characters will go back to school anyway. They'll just skip the phase and go straight to the job part in my opinion.

I agree with you Where's Waldorf that she was on the right track before the all Blouis thing happened. But from then on we also stopped seeing her point of view, everything. The writers said this was intended and that the real Blair will come back soon. They also tweeted that she'll soon have a career turn around. So I'll wait and see.
From my experience in s4 I am positive that this new relationship with Dan can bring this side out of her again. Of course we won't know until we'll see it, but I am really looking forward to a new W-like kinda story line for her.
