That's a fascinating take CheruB. Could you expound on what you meant by the Victrola part though? I don't think it's fair that it's seen as another Chuck screwup that Blair think he's gone when he thinks she did too because she's late or something. But I can't imagine what a scene like that has to do with the story they've been telling all season long, which is Trust and Games and whatnot.
Oh and Chuck and Blair rule (rock) because even in a scene with the most morally justified character or situation (where in theory they should be the "bad guy") you still feel for them, the audience can really connnect with them -imo

Disappointed they made the ESB anticlimactic because what a waste of venue but that could also mean there's something more dramatic happening later on. I don't think they've given so much away yet, but I'm not thrilled they threw out CB stills at all.
Because despite the writers' failures at making these two equals, they really do intend to portray them as such.

The song in this scene is playing in my head over and over like the new Stripper by Sohodolls. It's got that same dominating drumbeat.

I do think they're trying (hence the "you went up there on your own" that's been in our faces for the last decade already) but they've painted Chuck into a corner in a lose-lose situation. Haters gonna hate.

Yup, it's just that people are questioning whether they're being portrayed as equals, so people weigh their actions against each other.
Still pissed they haven't had enough scheming TOGETHER as an official couple.

It strikes me whenever Chuck turns the tables on her because there is justifiable cause. He doesn't want to be her dirty little secret or leftover scraps. He doesn't want to say I love you unless he knows she can say it right back.
