  1. Why Yale...?

Now, I know that Blair was the main character in the books and was completey obsessed with Yale. So, I understand wanting to be faithful to that. However, at this point it seems like the writers are committing themselves to sending at least a few major characters there (Blair, Serena, maybe Dan and/or Nate), and I just don't think it'll work.

I was a fan of The O.C. and I saw Josh Schwartz and company make huge mistakes with that high school-college transition. I know it's unrealistic and everything, but I don't mind it when shows go the 90210 "California University" route. I think it can simplify those hairy little details in ways that  ultimately outweigh the stretch of the imagination a show asks of its audience.

Beyond that, they have a perfectly legitmate alternative: COLUMBIA! It's an Ivy, well-known, and in the Upper West Side. Josh Schwartz has said that he's not worried about the transition because he doesn't feel Goosip Girl is set in high school so much as he feels it's set in NYC. And New Haven isn't NYC.

I go to the school where they filmed a huge chunk of the Yale ep (Brooklyn College) and I selfishly wouldn't mind having the crew on campus some more. But it won't be worth it if it means the characters have storylines that are that much harder to intertwine and we are once again (as we were with The O.C.) forced to embrace the recurring guest stars as the pot stirrers.

    Thoughts?

  3. Confirmed Death (Only Possible 5)

everyone is convinced that it isn't bart now because he has been seen filming in the past few days. and, while i appreciate that, i don't think it should discredit the fact that EVERY OTHER PIECE OF EVIDENCE points to him. not to mention, his is the character that makes the most sense to kill. there's a reason it's obvious.

i'd sooner believe they are filming out of sequence before the winter hiatus than ignore the probability that bart is going to die.

  5. Confirmed Death (Only Possible 5)

i can't be allison though. she's not one of the five possibilities.

but i do think it would be the best choice. except that she, like georgina, is so far removed from the show now that it might be kind of weird to kill her off. any new viewers would be kind of confused. plus, it really would be a death for the sake of a death.

  6. Confirmed Death (Only Possible 5)

It has been confirmed. The death is either:

    1. Georgina Sparks

    2. Nate Archibald

    3. Rufus Humphrey

    4. Vanessa Abrams

    5. Bart Bass

I put them in the order of what I think is least-to-most likely.

I see no point in killing off Georgina for so many reasons I won't even go into it. Nate dying would at least have more impact than G but he's too important to the show. Rufus COULD happen, but it would leave Dan and Jenny in a weird place logistically and they've spent too much time developing him and Lily. Vanessa hasn't clicked with a majority of the fans and writers don't seem to know what to do with her. However, I don't see why they'd go through the trouble of making Jessica Szohr a regular this year if they were just going to kill her anyway

So, I REALLY think they're going to kill off Bart. It'll make room for Lily and Rufus to happen and it'll stir things up for Chuck

Honestly, I would have preferred Allison or one of the Archibald parents. I think Dan, Jenny, and Nate need the extreme storylines more than Chuck. He seems to stir things up enough for himself.

  7. Nate's Dirty Little Secret??

I'm thinking it's something along the lines of living in some crappy hotel or working at some crappy job.

Something to do with the whole FBI thing.

  10. Since when does everyone hate Nate?

Seriously, I GET IT. Blair and Chuck are really hot together. And their characters are delicious and entertaining. I love them too. I'm just so sick of everyone on this board always seeing things from their perspective. Just like Serena, the second she's on Blair's bad side, she's on eveyone else's bad side. Now that he is standing up to Chuck, Nate is basically a useless baby.

My biggest problem with Blair and Chuck is that when they're justifiably upset with someone, rather than take the high road, they scheme and plot and bring themselves down to their level. Sure, you can have it out with someone, but then walk away and move on either with or without them.

Nate couldn't have known about Dan and Chuck's issues. He's at the point where he has to lie about his own name at a school that his family half-owns. He just sees Chuck's actions as over-the-top bullying, which he himself is dealing with and sort of has been his whole life from his father.

Chuck has always been there for Nate. Absoltuely. But even he is capable of an oversight. When Nate went to him to apologize for overreacting about the Victrola money, Chuck was too preoccupied to realize that if Nate was actually asking for help, he must REALLY need it. But Chuck couldn't have known, becuase Nate was too proud to tell him about Catherine.

I can understand why Chuck acted the way he did, but I'm also not going to ignore all the shitNate's dealing with right now just so I can be on "Team Chuck". I say we abandon the teams. And for the love of god, PLEASE stop turning every thread into raving about B and C and ranting about how terrible everyone else is.
