I would have liked it a whole lot more if they hadn't retconned Elijah and made him the wounded and betrayed want-to-see-the-best-in-everyone victim. I can't believe they're whitewashing him like this. He's just as bad as Katherine, and god knows DG is incredibly good at being a suave sociopath. I don't understand what the writers think they're doing. This ship could have worked, had they been manipulating EACH OTHER.
At least he was sassy...
Haven't had the time to watch this one... should I bother? Were there any good parts?
@Kiddie Pool Those are my thoughts as well... and it would really help if they, instead of doing the classic "(S)he doesn't care about who he has to kill to get what he wants, no humanity left, danger to Elena" - sums up every. single. big villain they have had on this show. It's gotten unbelievably dull. At this point, I think I might just want Bonnie to 'go dark'. It would be hilarious, and boring, but at least it would be something new. And maybe finally the main gang could have an actual ethical dilemma.
You know, Elena actually had something going there at the end, having finally done something wrong but then she started blaming Stefan and Damon... she was the one who went after Connor, no one made her. And lol to her writing in a diary. "The only thing worse than losing someone you love, is losing yourself." Wow, Elena. Again, no one made you.
And still no Elijah!
None of the Original's backstory that they introduced in s3 makes sense. The stuff Elijah told us in 2x19 did, because he didn't start babbling about how everything's connected to Mystic Falls and Elena's magical original witch necklace. This show's attempts at continuity is hilarious.
Hey, don't hate on Elijah, it's not his fault Plec can't write!
Seriously? She's gonna run to Klaus? Oh my god, I can't even. You know, I actually liked this episode at first, it seemed good by TVD standards, but now I'm just back to "wtf did I just watch"... the only good part was Matt's faux death.
I still think he's related to Bonnie in one way or another.
Izzie's alive? Are you kidding? I was devastated! That's the one good thing about TVD, we never have to worry about anyone dying(unless it's a reccurring with too much potential, like Finn, they'll get rid of those asap before they can give the show some much-needed depth) and they don't throw any of those nasty, intriguing surprises at us either, so we're basically just watching a bunch of hotties interract every Thursday before we go to sleep. It's nice.
Oh, it's alright! I'm being serious when I say that I don't want to watch anything past season 5. I'm going to stop watching when it's still good, rather than watch it go down the drain, like all shows do sooner or later. Like with TVD. Had I stopped watching at 2x22, I would have been such a happy fan.
But oh my god, poor Lexi. I really loved her *sob*
