To me, I csn't see how there could be sny conceivable option AT ALL other then CB ending up together. No way in HELL!!! I mean, I just don't get it, have these people who think otherwise actually watched season 1 and 2? 2x01 is one of THE BEST episodes of the entire series, CB were just...they blew me away. They 100% blew me away and I didn't even ship them!! It all came down to the garden scene. it was the VERY first scene where their amazing connection and complexity was first brought to light to us. Their incredible banter like in the poolside scene was always there, but the emotional angst/depth of feelings was really revealed in that moment, you could see it in their eyes, their movements, their expressions. Oh leighton was just pure perfection. and Ed too, my god I LOVE IT. and the 3 words 8 letters scene. jeez, at the end of that ep I was 1000000% convinced they were the best pairing I had ever seen on tv. EVER.
When I look back, the writers went ridiculously over the top, it's true. The fucking IP, chenny. The glass punch, don't get me started on fucking dair, and just season 5 in general. BUT. I DO understand what they were trying to convey..and I agree with it - I feel that after the angst back and forth in s2, when they finally came together, they really did not know how to deal with the magnitude of the love they had stumbled into. They weren't prepared, and it blew up, but the love was still there IT WAS ALWAYS SO OBVIOUS. I agreed with Chuck letting her go, it was what needed to happen. Blair should have realised though, and she DID eventually, but it should've ended at 5x10. IT WAS THEIR TIME. But, what happened happened, and it was a fucking disaster , true, but at least we can draw conclusions as to why Blair did ehat she did. I'm just so glad they got the forever after they were destined to have since 2x01. They will always, ALWAYS be special and unique to television.
