1. the reason you watch Gossip Girl?

   There are still good reasons to watch the show, event though it has changed a lot since the begining.

   I think I'll keep watching only if Dair doesn't happen. That is the only condition for me to do so because I can't really stand the idea of the two of them together. I had to stop watching the second half of S4 because it really started to be annoying. I know it's  not very useful or else, but I'm just allergic to it. Appart from that I don't mind watching, even if Blair ends with someone else than Chuck. I'll be disappointed for sure; like I have been disappointed by the last episode because it's too much teasing and SL waste, but that's ok. I also would like to see how Serena and Nate are going to end. I like the perspective of seing Jack Bass coming back. I love hating him. And above all I'm curious about if they are going to reveal who is GG or not. So there are still good reasons to watch.

4. Dare to Dair?

   @emmalemmala and snooker83: I wasn't planning on crashing this thread. There are many things I don't like about my own ship and Chuck's behaviour last seasons, but that not the point here. My intervention was just because I wanted to tell you that people from other fandoms maybe not think how you think they do. I'm very passionnate about Chair but I think some people who ship them cross a line in their comment toward Dan and Blair fans. I always criticize this couple, not their fans. But some people in your fandom are  also harsh on us (not only the Chair) sometimes. In real life I always fall more for a Dan kind of guy rather than I would fall for a bastard like Chuck (except for the judgmental behaviour and Dan's physical features that really drives me away) because a guy who takes you to the movies, help you and has some culture and conversation is nicer than a guy trading you for an hotel. But it is a show, and there I look for something else than this kind of relationship, I focus on different things that I wouldn't accept in real life. I didn't try to convince you of my point of you or bash Dan and Blair, but rather defend the opinion of those who like Derena for what they are to them, and those who don't necessary get into what the writers try to sell since S4 with Dan and Blair. Anyway, sorry for disturbing.

5. Dare to Dair?

   Hi! I usually don't read your thread but I was a bit interested by what you guys who ship Dan and Blair thought after this episode for once. A few pages away you said that probably Chair fans are not going to hate Dan anymore because he helped Chuck and Blair, and maybe it would make Dan more acceptable for more fans, etc.... Also you said Chair fans are always into Derena ship because it serves them. I just wanted to point out that you're not necessary right. I hated Dan more than ever in last episode because I can't stand the way he is with Blair. It's just the fact he has feeling for her, and he is all acting like 'I care more for her happiness than mine'. To me it's just a lame copy of what Chuck has been going through this season. The more writers are going to try to make us stomach Dan, the more I'm going to threw him up. It won't become acceptable, it will just become unbearable, at least from my point of view. Beside, like you've guessed by now, I don't like Dan, at all. It goes back to S1. I've never had interest in him, but at least before he wasn't bothering me because he was involved in other thread that I had not interest for. For that matter, althought I'd like to see Blair and Chuck together, and therefore I'm a chair fan mostly, I'm not into a Derena relationship because it would serve my opinion. I think it's unfair for their fan base to say that. Serena or any other character for that matter deserves better than Dan in my opinion. He will always be the annoying, judmental douche I've always find him to be. So just to say, that you should be careful in your assumptions about what people we'll end up thinking. Your ship will happen, because that's the way writers want to go and it's good for you. They acknowledge you and want to please you as well. It's fair. The risk is that a lot of people might not follow this, contrary to what some of you might think will happen. And in my opinion, Dan and Blair will probably attract some more fans because it's cute, easy, Blair seems happy, because she won't be with Chuck who has screwed up many times, because it's new, or whatever the reason... but will it be enough to just counterbalance the loss of those who don't picture Dan with Blair or thos who ship Chuck and Blair?... that is the question. And I'm still very surprised that writers foresee a S6, especially if they go down that road. Sorry for intervening here, it's a first and a last. I just wanted to react to what I read before because I thought it wasn't necessary right or fair for those who really ship Derena (not me) or those who really can't stand Dan (me), whoever he is with. Cheers.

6. ~ Chuck & Blair ~ 2.0

   Sorry, I'm not a regular user here but I like reading what's happening from time to time (and you guys make me laugh with your french sessions...). And now I feel like reacting to what has been suggested previously about leaving Dair have their moment. Personnaly, I could never have respect for a Dan and Blair relationship (not the Dan/Blair fans themselves, but the fact that Dan and Blair could be together). From my point of view, these two don't really fit, appart maybe as friends when thehave some banter. But not when Dan starts to play white knight and be all 'come on cry on my shoulder Blair, I'll be always here, you still have me, bla bla bleh ...'. I had more fun when they were enemies, true enemies. That's my point of view. Many people (Dan/Blair fans mostly) will criticize my extremism, call me a chuckistan or whatever they want to call me for being such a supporter of Chuck and Blair. I don't care, neither I ask them to share my point of view. So I don't think that on the other hand I could ever think: oh we had Chair for 4 seasons, let's leave the other have Dan with Blair for a while just to please their supporter. Sorry, I'm a greedy Chair fan and I'm not sorry for it!

8. Kiss - Slap

   While I agree it may be used in a comedic way - the issue of violence between Chuck and Blair is raising its head again. Regardless of if it's meant to be funny I think Blair hitting or slapping Chuck is a bit too soon after the drama in his apartment last season

   I don't see this slap as violence, like hard violence. I don't think violence not an issue in Blair and Chuck relationship, at least not physically. There is something really animalistic between these two, but to me, as far as physical violence is concerned, one scene can only be counted as such: the broken window scene you're referring to. If we talk about violence in words and actions, yes we can consider that it is an issue in their couple that comes and goes regularly. S5 is a bit of an exception to this pattern with Chuck and Blair trying to move on and mature.

   This slap we see in the promo could happen to any other characters if pushed a bit too far or for any reason. I totally see Blair playing the scandalised woman because Chuck has just kissed her and therefore slap him not to defend herself but to simply express her feeling. Beside in the promo it seems that she initiates the kiss so maybe this slap has something to do with the fact that a third person is watching and she wants to hide the fact that she's not entirely against being kissed by Bass. So I would really view this slap as a comic effect rather than a violent act that would create drama.

9. Kiss - Slap

   This announced kiss-slap scene is a sign for good entertainment. I'm sure it will be a great scene because of the comic transition of Blair slapping her favourite Basstard just after kissing him.

10. Is it finally the time to forgive Chuck?

    @J-Tati: I agree with you on the point that Chuck changing shouldn't be linked to his reunion with Blair although yesterday scene between the two of them was a necessity. She's the one Chuck cares the most and to whom he has done wrong. Louis trying to mess with him was good for me in that sense that he showed him with a bit more guts than what we usually see. I really expected more from a character like Louis, turns out that the writers missed his potential. I don't think Blair needs Chuck to realise that her life with Louis won't bring her the satisfaction she expected. She'll realise it eventually, before or after the wedding.

    Coming back to Chuck, yes I also want Chuck to evolve as a person, for his well being above any other reason he may have. And I think that's what he wants. He doesn't have an agenda regarding Blair for the moment (although the writers seem to have one). I don't want things to be rushed as well.

    Although I was quite surprised to like Duck friendship and find Dan bearable to watch for once, I don't want Chuck to rely too much on that. I like him better with Nate, and I like also his relationship with Lily. I'd like to see more family interraction with him. I could totally see him involved in a specific cause as well. It could be actually some funny plot to see Chuck involved in some charity, not for his pride or image but because he wants to. This association could be a weird or unusual one that could bring more humanity to him while providing some entertaining situations (Chuck being the basstard he is and trying to do good by using not so good means).
