    AS far as I know this time it was not ME who brought it up

    ALso yeah, that show is holy to me. That ship is holy to me. If someone spreads hate for that show or that ship, I will cut that someone hard and multiple times(especially since I heard the arguments haters use FOR THOUSAND TIMES ALREADY and they make less and less sense each). If not for that show we would not even have genre shows as they were dying out after X-Files.

    I try not to discuss buffy too much because Buffyworld exhausted the fuck out of me for most of my teen years.I hate discussing this stuff mainly because now arguments usually go in circles about the ships and the show. Rape that and that. Massacre that and that. etc, etc, etc on repeat till most of arguments people use just piss me off. Discussing comics is a bit more decent since no one knows on what the fuck will happen(and  bangel folk rages hilariously since fangel is more of a ship than bangel now)

    99%?Really?99%.How arrogant are you?I've only seen Glenna say she is a spuffy fan in this thread.So thats like 2 people.Halde comes once a month so he doesn't count.The rest of us are fed up of your Buffy fangirling.Fine,it was a good show whatever but you DO NOT have to bring it up every single time anyone says anything.Atfirst i thought Kolelus was being too harsh on you but you deserve it.God ,I miss Kolelus. halde, glenna, flora, me, red(even though red is more of bangel folk, red sitll can recognize the greatness of spuffy). 

    That only leaves you, charisma(who is hellbent on putting btvs through the mud for whatever reason) and nicfanz.

    That's what? 5 out of 7? so yes. majority of people here know that ship and think its best thing everrrr.

    And when talking about the storytelling narrative. BTVS/ats always had elements of a procedural show, but they evolved it by fusing it with character-based storytelling as well as overarching story arc.

    • BTVS writing did not need a long and convulted and forced story arc to have the characters do something, like certain show about "vampires".
    • The very basis of the show was CHARACTERS. Characters going through things that happen and that would happen there even if they were n ot there.
    • When they were not doing that, they were CAUSING things to  happen and had to deal with it, 100% in accordance with how they developed in their life.
    • yes that show followed the model of a normal life isntead of a long story.
    • That is not to say there was NOT a story - it was just one that most of times would not be as visible to characters - the threads that connected every plotline only were made fully clear to the viewer and the viewer knew why things are happening the way they do. The viewer saw the "fate" that binds those characters.
    • The overarching storyarc of BTVS played out through the character actions, as characters were influenced by their tragedies, decisions and experiences. Instead of plot driving the characters, which is far easier to do, BTVS had characters drive the plot, even if they did not realize it at times.

    To sum up: take out ONE episode of BTVS and the motivation domino would fall apart, because pretty much everything is important for that(I mean s1 had shit that only became relevant four or five seasons latter)

    Its one of the most beautifully composed shows in history of tv, only topped by JOss Whedon's short-lived and fucked up Dollhouse tv show, which was even more beyond its time than BTVS was.

    And before you butt-in and start talking about "hey SPuffy was abusive and dysfunctional too~" shit :

    1. they worked through that.
    2. It was not displayed as POSITIVE in any way and every single person would use their time to call out both of them on their character traits, dickish behavior and all the other shit,  including the relationship problems and how fucked up it is.
    3. The main point of dysfunctionality was how they got over it and how they slowly worked their way up after falling so  low. 
    4. It was not misogyny or misandry, because it was equally fucked up with both sides equally empowered by their abuse. There was no direct victim in that period and both of them ended up with quite a few emotional scars they got over because of brilliant writing and because they both were such a similar asshole-ish people, that they could not help but relate.

    I don't mean to sound rude, but sometimes you sound like such a butt-hurt DE fan. Damon's character wasn't cashed in properly. Its been 3 seasons, move on already..What I was saying is that you dont like KC because you don't feel it. Not because they're abusive, or too mysognistic, or whateverHow about you shut  up and stop forcing me to think the way you want me to think

    I could not care less about the supposed chemistry and all that bullshit. The very idea of KC disgusts me and is just as vomit inducing as current DE....no wait, actually more. I DO NOT stand misogyny and abuse-propaganda and even if I ignored those SERIOUS factors(they were serious enough for me to drop Supernatural forever and hate on every single fantard of that show), I just also can't ignore the bad writing that surrounds this silly crackship.

    Well, excuse me for having standards, but don't you dare to tell me what I should think about your precious little ship.

    Just say it like it is. I used to like Spuffy before you started preaching them like the second coming. They weren't that great.You do realize that 99% of people in this very thread are spuffy fanbase?

    and yes, to me it is. Spuffy has been the best OTP for me, with LOVE from Veronica Mars coming in second and first two seasons of CHAIR - third. 

     

     

     Bufy was an amazing show, but tv was written differently then. You're talking about a show in which countless episodes worked on a episode long arc. Season long arcs were often only pursued for 1/2 of the seeason's episodes. They even did a musical episode for christs sake. It was a great show, but it had its flaws. Television is so much more demanding these days.You DO realize that the whole BTVS is one long series-long story arc? right? Even the episodes that "seemed episodic" had a very certain purpose in every season-arc. 

    And you can't get more "demanding" than BTVS writing was. its the standard every genre show should aspire to, yet doe snot. Its still beyond its time. its still beyond the present time and I find that tv-writing has seriously regressed since then.

    Also love/hate ships only work when they have a proper progression of character. Characters can't just go "OMG LETS HAVE SEX" the second they meet. 

    

    

    

     

     

     You acclimatize the characters, you give them parallels, similarities, and you spend time before just throwing them at each other for no reason at all. BTVS took five years for my OTP to end all otps to become 100% real and it was glorious. 

    That's why I was ok with DE for first season, but despised them once the progression was ruined in S2. And that';s why I will NEVER be okay with KC crackship. Because it makes no fucking sense and has no reason to exist.
