  1. Here's to the Future/Now or Never: season finale

Ok I don't want to totally disagree with everyone but I really didn't think the finale was all that amazing.  I mean I definitely LIKED it, but it wasn't super amazing or anything.  I thought the George thing was predictable - maybe it was because I saw something earlier when people were speculating about George getting hurt before he can go off to the army - and yet it was a little cheesy.  I mean, having George almost die after being hit by a bus?  It was just a little too overdramatic to me.

Second thing: Izzie must live.  She has been one of my favorite characters since the beginning.

Third: What has happened to the scenes outside of the hospital?? Yes, in this finale we saw Owen go to his mother, but otherwise - nothing.  I miss the scenes in Mer's house or at Joe's!

Also, I am not trying to say I want George to die.  I love George.

I thought the ending was predictable and ridiculous.  Seriously?  Leaving both characters on the table at the last second was a little much - does anyone else agree??

What I am wondering is IF Izzie or George dies, would that cause another crossover with Private Practice to have a funeral?  I'm guessing no, especially if one/both die before the premiere in the fall, but you never know with Shonda.

I don't want to wait until the fall!  It's such a long gap!

Bottom line: Love MerDer and the post-its and IZZIE MUST LIVE!  Katherine Heigl rocks. Grey's rocks.  And Shonda is lying when she says she doesn't pay attention to the press.  She does.

  2. What a Difference a Day Makes - 100th episode

I agree with a lot of what has already been said - I SO loved George helping Izzie down the aisle! That was a perfect moment - and we haven't seen enough of George with other characters period, so it was super nice to see.

Katherine looked excellent - she's really pretty.  And so did Sandra Oh - we don't get to see the stars out of scrubs often enough.  And of course Alex and Derek looked pretty great as well.

I loved when Izzie and Alex kissed and the camera panned to every couple on the show - there's a good relationship recap for people who don't watch.

Great 100th episode - I can't wait for next week!  (Oh - but the one thing that annoyed me was how they made the valedictorian so all about school - people who are good students don't have to sacrifice their lives!  It's just not true - well, not for everyone anyway.)

DON'T KILL IZZIE!  I will die if she is killed off!

  3. No Good at Saying Sorry

By the way - did anyone see Private Practice?  Talk about overdramatic.  They opened up every storyline and tied up exactly NOTHING - it really is cruel.  And Addie (almost - basically did) helped Noah cheat on his wife.  Way to go.

Now we have to wait 5 or 6 months to see what happens. Joy.

  4. No Good at Saying Sorry

I loved this episode - I loved Izzie and her mom (and it really is amazing how well both actresses did considering they didn't know each other at all) and I loved Mer and the chief and BY THE WAY they reused a Private Practice guest star from season 1 of PrPr again (the woman who played Maddy's mom was on PrPr as the patient with the vaginismus)! and I loved Owen.

But I was kind of bored with the tree hugger.

I really really REALLY hope Izzie is NOT KILLED OFF!  I love Katherine Heigl - she did such a great job last night - and the show would never be the same without her.  Please, please, please!!

And I also have come to like Mark and Lexie a lot more now - especially seeing how Mark has changed as a person.

Can't wait for next week - 100 episodes, everyone!

And is that sneak peek on during Castle on Monday or what? Hmm.

  5. Elevator Love Letter

Wow - it really was amazing.  To add to what everyone has said, Justin Chambers was fantastic!  Haven't seen him so upset . . . ever.  His conversation with Mer was so sad - I cried too.

Proposal = Fantastic.  The chief was so funny when he told Mer to take a different elevator and Der was finally himself again (no beard AND in great spirits)!!

Izzie didn't die!  Well, not that I thought she would, but things still don't look good.

Yeah, Sandra Oh was amazing.  She is a fantastic actress.

I can't get over how great that episode was - it's having the old Grey's back and I forgot - I loved the scene with Callie and George and the scene w/Callie and Arizona praying - those were great scenes.  Callie (Sara really) is great.

So, so good.  Can't believe we have to wait almost a month for the next episode!! So sad! But at least this episode ended on more of a final note - not going to be fun waiting for PrPr to come back.  Talk about leaving loose ends!

  6. Another Gap ???

ScarLovesGrey - I just posted on the forum for "Elevator Love Letter" that ABC media net's press releases say April 2nd is a rerun of "In the Midnight Hour" and April 9th is a rerun of "All By Myself."  So the question is whether or not we will have GA on April 16th.  Hopefully!!  Here is the URL for press releases:

  8. Elevator Love Letter

I'm pretty sure that, considering there are 24 episodes this season, this is the schedule:

Episode 19, this one, is on March 26th

Episode 20, Sweet Surrender? - would have to be April 23rd because:

    Episode 21 is April 30th

    Episode 22 is May 7th

And the finale, 23 AND 24, is May 14th

That means we have GA this week and then skip the 2nd, 9th, and 16th.  That's a long gap!!

  9. Elevator Love Letter

Please do not take offense at this comment (I have been accused of calling other bloggers "people" in the past): Why are you people talking about the proposal?  I mean, I know it's super important and MerDer fans, myself included, want to see it happen.  But this episode is totally about Izzie!  Not MerDer!  Izzie could DIE - and I really really hope she won't but she could.  So I think we should focus a little less on where the ring is and a little more on how Izzie's surgery is going to go and how Shepherd is going to handle it.  This is a huge storyline and even if the proposal happens I doubt it will be the focus of the episode.  Seriously.

  10. I WILL FOLLOW YOU INTO THE DARK

Here is the dialogue from the end scene of last night’s episode of Grey’s, between Mer and Der (the one everyone is talking about).  For people who haven’t yet seen this fantastic episode or for those who just want to see what was said again:

Scene: Derek is outside his trailer hitting empty beer cans with a baseball bat.  Mer approaches.  After they talk about the fact that he is hiding, this is said (the italics are Mer’s voice over toward the end):

    Der: I’m done operating.

Mer: Oh.  Ok. So you’re just quitting.

Der: You should understand better than anybody else.  You wrote the book on quitting.  Running, hiding, there’s a lot of books, Meredith. (drinks beer)

Mer: That may be true, but I’m here now.

Der: Mmmm. (swallowing) Mm.  You’re here now. (She nods) Ha ha.  You’ve wanted me out since the day I moved in.

    Mer: That is not true.

Der:  (approaches her) Because you’re incapable of anything that resembles commitment.  You lied to me.  You said you were healthy – that you were, you were healed.  There’s no fixing you. You’re a lemon.

Mer: Derek Shepherd, you are drunk.  (He hits a can) And you’re angry.  And I’ve been there so I get it, but that does not give you the right –

    Der: Just go home, Meredith.

Mer: You don’t get to just stand here and tell me –

Der: This is what you want.  I’m giving you an out.  Go.

    Mer: I’m not going anywhere.

    Der: I said leave!

    Mer: I’m –

Der: Meredith, leave! (Stare at each other, he looks away)

    Mer: I know there’s a ring.

    Der: What?

Mer: The chief told me; I know there’s a ring.

Der: You want the ring? (Reaches into his pocket and takes out the box, opens it and shows it to her.  He takes it out.)  Here’s your ring.  (Throws it up and hits it with the bat, she stares at him.  He throws the bat and heads to the trailer.)  Every surgeon has a shadow.

Mer: Is that the best you’ve got?  ‘Cause I’m not bailing; we’re in this together.  (He goes in the trailer)

Der: Go home, Meredith! (Shakes her head and turns to leave) And the only way to get rid of a shadow, is to turn off the lights, to stop running from the darkness (ring pictured as the background fades to black), to face your fear head on.

I’m not sure if the last part is completely right because my internet keeps shutting down spontaneously but that’s all of it.  Rough scene, great scene!  Patrick Dempsey does a great job here – it’s easy to get caught up in Derek and forget about how well Patrick plays him.  Ellen too, of course – she’s great.  Great episode, scene, dialogue!  Love the ring image toward the end – great image.
