21. Gossip "Girl" Hints/ Foreshadowing

    In 2x25, the graduation episode, when they NJBC tried to unmask GG at the VDW post graduation party, Dan had lef the party with Vanessa before the scene where the NJBC is sitting in the stairs and sends the blast that ringed in Jonathan's phone.  It was a convenient thing that the writers could have done in case they ever decided to put Dan as Gossip Girl, which they finally did in the finale.

    On 5x9, the whole thing of Dan and Alessandra tweeting about Inside, in a way is a subtle hint, first because we see Dan thinking that tweeting about his book with an assumed identity will work, then we see him work with Alessandra instead of being mad at her for trashing his book online, and at the end they switch places about who tweets love and who tweets hate, and we see him tweeting hate about his own book.

    Even though I wanted DS as endgame, I'm finding Dan more creeper and creeper by the hour.  I'm not sure how I will feel about him a week from now.

    I also want to say that I noted the smart line too (thank God for this site and gifts with subtitles because I wasn't able to hear Chuck's voice in that scene over Eleanor taking over her grandson) and yeah I don't get why they used that line either, there are so many things they could have used instead, even an "I love you" from father to son.

    Hi guys, I posted last night but I know at this time there are other posters.  I was actually thinking that for it to be remotely possible that Dan was GG Jenny would have to have been a lot more involved than he let on to Rufus, if not all 6 years, at least part of them.  Why?  Because of the Juliet Sharp plothole in season 4 (in 4x11) when he and Blair "asked" Gossip Girl for Juliet's location, unless this website has some feature that allows to post blasts with a timer (I just remembered it did have something like that, when Serena was GG and she was talking with Diana Payne in 5x20, I think there was something like that going on), the whole GG replying to them with Juliet's location and the line "get the bitch" could have been send by Jenny.  Dan would have previously asked her for help, I mean Blair went at night to the loft at the end of 4x10 to ask his help, after Blair left that night he could have called Jenny and told her that he needed her to be GG during the next day while he was with Blair.  And Jenny spent time with Juliet and with Juliet's stuff when Juliet abandoned the appartment (and she and Vanessa were left alone in the appartment for several hours during 4x9) so maybe Jenny found out where Juliet was from or Dan could have gotten that info before meeting Blair the next day and he passed it to Jenny asking her to deliver it as GG after receiving a text from him or Blair (which he was going to manage Blair to send).

    Hi, I know we haven't spoken before, but I kinda been visiting the forum over the past 5 years, I never dared to post but I swore I would do it on the day GG ended.  I just want to see I agree, I totally get what you are talking about.  It just ridiculous to me, they shouldn't have done this storyline.

27. Dan and Serena need to come back

    Hi you guys, I'm more of a Chuck and Blair fan but I also shipped Dan and Serena, I used to be ok if Serena ended with either Dan or Nate because I wasn't abl to choose and both were good guys but after 4x10 I went DS all the way, though season 6 almosts breaks me, even more than Dair had already bothered me.  Anyways I'm writing to say congratulations.  I think Dan as GG is a storyline with holes, I could believe there were early hints he was a strong candidate for the part but there were other hints against it and not just the Jenny thing they mentioned tonight, anyways at leasst we got what we wanted, even if it was kinda rushed.  Though it could be possible that we get extra scenes on the DVD I still feel like it was rushed and that among other things bothers me, but on the other hand I got my ships, so I'm trying to suck it up and congratulate everybody.  I hope we can all remember the good moments in this forum and the good moments in the show.

    Hi, I don't know if anyone is reading this at this hour, but I promised myself a long time ago that when Gossip Girl would end I would post here.  I'm a die hard Chuck and Blair as some of you might know and I also shipped Dan and Serena (though I must admit this last season kinda broke me a little, even more than Dair if that is possible).  I'm just want to say that after visiting this site and this forum for almost 5 years (I just hope you don't think I'm a stalker, and if someone is bothered by this my apologies), I feel like both the show and you guys are family and I'm gonna miss it and you guys so much!  I hope the cast has great careers, really they are better than the material they had to work with.  I can barely express my feelings about this so I'm going to repost what I wrote in the review:

    "I don't know if anyone is reading at this hour, considering ratings, heartbreak, dissapointment, people abandoning ships or the show, etc. I just want to say that I shared 5 years (I didn't see the first season when it aired but later and there still are parts I haven't seen) with this fandom and I won't forget that, even though there are things about this that I hated as much as they are things that I loved. I got what I wanted and at the same time I feel cheated. How is that ok? And yes they didn't answer many things. It's my fault really, after watching The O.C. what was I expecting? Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. Never again, Schwartz and Co., never again. Good luck to all of those who dare come 100 yards new you.

    Still, I guess I have to shut up and drink to Chuck and Blair and Dan and Serena (for the girl that shipped Rufly, my deepest condolences and I really mean it). I'll just sit back and drink martinis like a girl here used to say."

     

    There were a lot of holes tonight, a lot of unaswered questions (Nate, Dan as GG, Phillip whom I adored, Scott, the Vanderbilts, Sage, how Jack and Georgina hooked up, if Chuck and Blair had to go to therapy after Bart Bass's death, specially Chuck btw, if anyone graduated from college, if the miscarriage of season 5 was an issue when Blair was pregnant with Henry, etc.) and the possibiity of missing scenes in the DVD is not enough, but still, I will mis this.  It had to end, like you guys have said, because more episodes would have been a mess with these writers, but still I will miss it.

     

    I just want to say special hellos to Theresa and I'm sorry I haven't been able to write you more, this has been a hectic year for me personally mostly because of my job and GG sometimes gave me streess too.
