I'm not saying there wasn't any love. But really, dating since they were 10? When you are 10 you are not dating, you are playing house or something. It's like saying my first love was when I was 6. And when they grew up, they kind of grew apart. It was never a relationship between two grown-ups. And I don't remember how their relationship was in season 2... that alone speaks of how unimportant it seems in retrospective. They were bored and she probably wanted to go to the prom with Nate (ok, maybe more than that, but still they just fell 'confortable' with each other). Even Chuck said there was no passion, no spark. When you are 19 and there is no passion, your relationship is doomed.
However, this thread is not about what I think about Blair and Nate's relationship. I was just stating that I think Blair would always feel second best with Dan if the writers keep them in character. Of course Dan could fall head over heels in love for her, but so can Bart rise from the dead, or Lily be Serena's sister.. it's fiction... they can write whatever they want, but still some stories make more sense than other.
