I think from a Dair shipper's perspective, the worst thing is that it wasn't ended respectfully. 99.9% of us don't expect it to be revisited next season and most don't even want them to be friends. When you don't even want your ship interacting, it's clear that the writers have really fucked them up.
Nair part 2 got closure. Dair didn't. Also, Dair got written in a much better way than Nair 2.0 where Blair was still all over Chuck. The beginning of Dair didn't have Chuck at all. We expected them to break up at some point but they did it in the worst way.
And you know that we've been complaining about the nature of the relationship. It could have been written so much better. Heck, it practically writes itself but this is GG.
I never cared about endgame but just wanted a lovely relationship. Now they've ruined the memories.
The thing is Dan being insecure could have been written differently. The couple didn't have to go down because of insecurity. All the reassuring is all for naught in the finale. I mean, in the finale, she's still denying that she loves Chuck to Dan. So they really don't want us to keep supporting this couple. They ruined everything about them and they didn't have to. Even if they want to say great love is better than simple love, they could have still done it in a way that protected the ship. Why couldn't they just let them part amicably? "Hey, we tried but it was never meant to be. Call me when you need someone to watch movies with." We could have still kept shipping and our memories wouldn't be tainted. But they just obliterated it in the worst way. Retconned everything, made the entire arc seem pointless and pretending they were telling a Chair story even though Blair couldn't care less about him during most of the arc. And then why does she even care about him? Because she's missing him? Nope. Because his dad is alive. What a stupid story.
And we all knew the writers were terrible but we had hope because of S4 arc and because they decided to write Dair. It was our mistake but you live and you learn. All ships are ruined. Sure, CB gets the last laugh because they'll have the final episodes and ride away together but the show put them through a lot of BS too. It's just horrible writing all around.
Either way guys its over. If the writers gave in to the chair threats then so be it.
Basically this. It's their right to give in to Chair demands. At least there are tons of other shows to watch.
It's funny we had to sit through Louis for this. lol.
But in the end, it's just tv.
on another note, where did these clips even come from?
A Spanish TV show leaked them.
Well I guess this is just not the ending for dair but an ending for the dair thread as well. I feel bad for that. It was so much fun chatting to most of you here. Some of your posts were so intelligent to read and with a really good sense of humor too. Ill miss you guys n the posts hereI bet some people will still come here. lol. But I'm done with this show so I don't want to spend too much time talking about it after this week. Or today, possibly.
Does anyone in the fandom have a clue who Blair really is anymore?
The thing with Blair is that they can always pull the "denial" thing any time they want to change the story. They did it with Dan and now they are doing it with Chuck.
I don't care what happens to Dan anymore. I'm done with this show. lol
lmao. If they get married or engaged, it will be even funnier but now I'm expecting that. Definitely a terrible and rushed story.
Yeah, Cheath was fun. lol...
