Ahhh I love Dan and Serena together :) Their history with one another just has so much meaning that you know they're a great couple!
The thing with Chuck and Jenny, although they were terribly gross in a sense, is that they're more predictable. For one thing we know that both these characters aren't exactly well-rounded. When you look at Dan and Blair, you know that Dan doesn't joke around with relationships and Blair doesn't really play with her heart. Chuck and Jenny on the other hand are notorious. Plus, we all saw how in the first episode Chuck made a pass for Jenny so this didn't come completely out of the blue.
After the latest episode we can tell that Mark and Lexie are definitely going to head somewhere again. From what I've read, Shonda says it's going to be a long road between them but for me, that's fine. As long as they're back! I also think it'll be good to see them slowly get back together instead of just jumping back on the horse. They had a lot of issues so the show should show them working those things out.
I love the character of Ivy! I think they need a good balance between the girly-girls of Beverly Hills and the laid-back surfer girl. I would hate it if Ivy were to leave but if she had to get a tragic storyline I think that cancer AND a car accident is a little extreme.
The show comes up with a lot of weird couples but the timing of Dan and Blair evolving now would be less than ideal.
It was most likely a polaroid camera.
Honestly, the problem with Nate and Serena is that for me, Nate only went back to Serena after he was done with Juliet. So that doesn't seem like real love at the moment. They were good when they were together but right now, I'm not convinced.
I know the dichotomy between Chuck and Blair is really messed up but putting Dan and Blair together is beyond something I can accept. Leave Blair to be alone first. I mean, isn't that why she doesn't want to be with Chuck yet? So that she can be Blair Waldorf before becoming Chuck Bass' girlfriend? Why can't she just be single for a while?
And for the whole thing about Serena hooking up with Nate and Blair forgiving her as shown in the picture -- If the roles are reversed then where exactly are these characters going at the end of the day? It'll show that they're still the same high school girls we started off with and that just shows poor character development. We can't change them completely but to never move forward and mature just doesn't seem like the direction they should be going.
I agree with a lot of what you just said!
It would be so out of character and just another cycle if Blair goes for someone who was once with Serena. I get how Nate and Blair were together before Nate and Serena were but even after she knew how Nate felt about Serena, she still went for it a second time around. Blair has so many issues regarding Serena getting the same thing as her or in other words it seems like Blair is always in competition with Serena. Therefore, why would she want to be with Dan when she knows that Serena is and will always be his first love?
And without a doubt, this will cause undeniable conflict between Serena and Blair. They fight almost regularly and regardless of how friends can't help but fight, something like this could possibly end their friendship. So much for "BFFs" then.
And most importantly, I agree completely on how irritating it is that writers have this thing wherein everyone has to be with each other. Based on the context and background they've had between Dan and Blair, these two characters obviously seem to dislike one another or at least disagree in a lot of ways. Therefore they're an unlikely couple to happen. Characters don't need to experience being with each and every other character and if Dan and Blair happen that's exactly what the writers are doing.
They should concentrate on how Chuck and Blair learn to be mature and eventually fall in love again or something in that context. They can't keep shifting from one couple to another because then their stories won't be as substantial.
CHAIR ALL THE WAY!
Despite last episode, I'm still for Chair. These people just need to find themselves and I believe they'll eventually find each other.
