If Forwood is to work as a relationship I think the writers should show us why they need each other considering that they both seem fine without the other. Idk most of the time it always appears as if Caroline is wearing the pants in the relationship and Tyler just comes across as a dimwit.
I also think Caroline is much more loyal to her friends than she is to Tyler. Such that when something needs to be done even killing a person she would do it. I remember on the finale when she wanted to skip town with Tyler, she told him she could go with him after making sure her friends were okay. And how she lied to Tyler when they were still friends that she was the only vampire around. If it means liasing with Klaus for her friends she would do it. And the way she scoffed at Tyler's hybrid like it was his problem alone says a lot. Basically Caroline's life seems to go pretty smoothly even without Tyty around.
I don't think they ever meant to entirely base TV Elena off book Elena, i think Plec said something along those lines. This Elena we see was always what they had in mind of the character. Although they borrow the book stuff, it's kind of a lose adaptation. The Elena I saw in S1, I never for a second believed she used to be a cheerleader, was popular and all. Grief or not she came a bland packagae already. S2 and S3 she just became even worse.
@Liza, lmao!! @ the Nian sex tape. Seriously I felt that sex scene was an overkill really. Like they tried too hard to make it really hot. Lol I think sometimes they forget these people are supposed to be high school students with an element of naivety. Imo a hot love scene should be steamy but it should also tease the viewers. One of the hottest love scenes I have watched was between Will and Alicia, The Good Wife S3. The were kinda clothed but but the heat was still off the chains and they kinda interloped it with a convo loaded with innuendos. The result....staggering.
