I just realized that I have to change my gif now since I can't bare to see mary and matthew so happy when I know what has happened to them....

Yes I agree! That interview was awful! He should have some loyalty to the show that made him famous! He was nothing before downton and while I understand that as an actor he wants to do other things he should also take in consideration his fan's feelings. His decision changed the whole series! The mary/matthew dynamic was the center of the show and now it's gone... I even read somewhere that mary will have a new suitor (though the article said that it could be someone we already know which can only mean: richard carlisle or godforbid branson), which would probably be even worse! I mean, she just lost the love of her life, the father of her child, and then a few months later she starts flirting with someone else?! That would ruin mary's character and diminish the love story between mary/matthew.
At the moment, I'm really worried about season 4...season 3 wasn't so great, even though it had some great moments and now everything has changed...Posted 1/9/2013 6:30:13 PM #
Apparently dan stevens wanted out from the show so fellowes had to kill matthew off....I know the actors are free to do as they please and there's nothing wrong with wanting to do somthing different but right now I really hate him, for leaving the show and ruining everything!
First sybill and branson now mary and matthew. All romance in this show is dead now. It seems that if someone has a baby at downton someone else has to die! I watched live and it totally ruined my christmas day! I wonder what will happen in season 4 now...I almost wish it had stopped with season 3 with everyone happy instead of another season of gloom and grief...Posted 12/30/2012 6:53:01 AM #
Coffee Prince was one of my first k-dramas so I don't remember all the details. As far as I remember the leads realize they are in love pretty soon and the second couple also gets back together very quickly. Coffee Prince is actually one of the most realistic dramas there are (except for the whole girl dressed as a boy thing...and even that is better than others where it's pretty obvious that she is really a girl ex. You're beautiful) so you can imagine the rest! lolThey all tend to be a little (or a lot) overdramatic or sometimes nonsensical. I suppose one gets used to it.
Love squares are the foundation of all k-dramas. It's impossible to find a k-drama without a love square or at least a love triangle, as you might have seen. The second male leads are usually perfect but for some reason the lead never picks them. lol While the second female leads tend to be evil, manipulative and annoying! lol This is the general rule I've come across after watching almost 5 years of k-dramas. lolPosted 11/8/2012 2:12:41 PM #
Sorry about the essay! I didn't realize it was so long! Once I get talking about k-dramas I can't seem to stop! lol ^_^Posted 11/7/2012 12:42:51 PM #
@Charisma I tried watching Don't Hesitate, but I didn't really like it all that much so I dropped it after I watched 1/3 of it. When I first started watching k-dramas (and asian dramas in general) I used to watch everything, now after 4 years I'm getting a lot more picky so if a drama gets boring or if I don't like the leads I stop watching them. lol
Anyway, I've watched quite a few dramas by now (including all the ones you mentioned) and some of my favourites are: 1st shop of coffee prince (which is sort of a classic drama and had very high ratings), Delightful Girl Choon-hyang (which is my absolute favourite and is penned by my favorite korean wirters - the Hong sisters who also did You're beautiful), Prosecutor Princess is another lovely drama (I really love the main actor in this one); then there is City Hall, My Girlfriend is a Gumiho (also by the Hong sisters), Sungkyunkwan Scandal (if you would like to try a sagaeuk drama - period drama set during the chosun dynasty), Dream High (musical drama), the greatest love (also by the Hong Sisters, set in the show business), the princess man (also period drama - but this is more serious in tone - sort of korean romeo and juliet). I put mostly comedies since those seem to be the ones you like best judging by the ones you've already seen. ^_^
I've also seen japanese, chinese, thaiwanese and thai dramas, and while there are some good dramas there too, korean ones are usually the best.
I watched hana yori dango (japanese boys over flowers) before the korean version came out, and I agree with the others who say it's better. The actors are nowhere near as good-looking as the korean ones, but somehow all the rest is better - the story, the music, the mood. As you said it could be because I watched it first but I've watched parts of it again and I still think this one is a better version (I also don't like the korean actress who plays the lead - she makes all those annoying faces! lol). I think you should see it (it's not very long anyways - shorter than the k-version) and judge for yourself since you liked the korean one. ^_^Posted 11/7/2012 12:41:33 PM #
Hello everyone! I've decided to check this thread again after watching episode 6x04. The only good thing about it for me was the blair and dan scene at the end. They still have so much chemistry...it's such a pity what the writers did to them last year...even though I know nothing will come of it I'm glad we are going to have more scenes of them together, even if only as friends. The rest of this show is just crap now. I'm only watching it since this is the last season and only 6 episodes remain.
@charisma I watch korean dramas too! I've seen a lot of them. Boys over flowers is good. I've seen both versions, the japanese and the korean one (I've also read the manga and seen an old japanese movie adaptation lol). Lee Min Ho is gorgeous in that role. It's perfect for him. (Just like colin firth is the perfect mr. darcy). Are you watching any k-dramas now?Posted 11/6/2012 6:30:41 PM #
I think I am still in shock! Totally didn't expect that! How utterly heartbreaking! WHY, OH WHY would Julian Fellows do something like this to us?! She was the sweetest character on the show! The only one everyone loved for crying out loud! How sad was the scene with the dowager countess and carson at the end?! My eyes are puffy from all the crying...
On a side note, what is wrong with mary and matthew? Must they fight in every episode? They were my favourites but why is he making them so unlikable this season?! Last few episodes mary was being bitchy for no reason and now matthew wants to talk business right after what happened to sybill?! I hope they get back their old personalities soon cause they are getting really annoying...Posted 10/15/2012 11:49:13 AM #
Thanx for the explanation! I hadn't noticed any of those signs I'm afraid. lol I suppose it could be the white rabbit then.
Can't wait to see Baelfire. If they are casting him only now, this means he won't appear till the second half of the season I guess...
New episode tonight! Tomorrow I'll finally be able to see captain hook! lol ^_^Posted 10/7/2012 5:17:10 PM #
I really hope you are right and hook and emma have a thing together! I like him so much more than august (just as I liked spike a lot more than angel lol) and we haven't even seen him yet! It would be fun if rumple was peter pan...and I would be very curious to see what happened to him to make him the way he is now...
Everyone seems to think that the guy at the beginning of ep 1 is the white rabbit. May I ask why? What clues are there to make everyone think that is him? Did he have a watch or something? Just wondering...
And we still don't know who whale is...hope they will tell us soon.
While I'm sure it will be nice to see emma and snow together in FTL, I really hope they reuinte with everyone else soon (or at least by the middle of the season), because I like when the whole charming family is together. And there haven't been that many scenes of charming and emma together...Posted 10/4/2012 10:24:41 AM #
