    yeah totally understand, and they have had tons of trouble with OOC since like 2x16 up until now. and i think they realized that, and since they havent started writing s4 yet, they can fix everything after peoples reactions toward finale and whole season, so maybe s4 will have a chance of being much better.

     

    Definitely agree! After they came back from hiatus in Season 2 the characters were a little tweaked, and it only seemed to get worse. I'm hopeful that they'll write a better Season 4, but not expecting it anymore - I really think the entire writing staff and the creators need to go back and watch Season 1 and the first half of Season 2 again and remember that we're watching this show because we LOVE these characters. Right now it seems like they're purposefully trying to get us to hate the characters, which doesn't make any sense...

     

    For example, in Season 1 we all loved to hate Chuck Bass, because he was an ass, but he had hidden layers and he was loyal.

     

    Now two years later he's just embarassing.

    yeah i get what you mean. so like you would have liked the episode if the drama coming from the characters wasnt so OOC?

     

    Definitely! I get that a show like Gossip Girl can't be all hugs, all the time, but I was basically just sitting there thinking 'Who are these people?' Now I have to say I am a big Chair shipper, so alot of my disappointment is stemmed from that mess, but again only because it was so OOC. I basically think Josh and Stephanie forgot who the characters were and decided to just lump all the drama they could in order to get higher ratings.

    Well it sounds like you like the drama, so you won't be disappointed in that category. But I think the reason I was so disappointed was because everything was so contrived, and the characters were doing things that were very OOC solely for the purpose of 'OMG' moments.

    Sorry, but where did you see twists and turns - seriously??!

    Don't want to spoil others in this thread so I'll be vague, but I'd say the whole georgina SL and basically the last 5 minutes. Honestly though, those in no way made up for what a mess it was on a whole...I think my stomach literally turned at one point.

    There were definitely unexpected twists and turns, and while I'll probably still watch season 4 I don't think I'll be as attached. Some things were WAY too out of character for me, and the characters were why I started watching GG in the first place - not for the drama.

    Saw the episode, and I'd give it an A+ for dramatic effect. As for every important category (i.e. character development, continuity ect.) ... well I don't think there's a letter low enough to describe how awful it was. Obviously this is only my opinion  - but everyone that I've talked to that's seen it already seems to agree.

    I totally agree! - But seeing as the writers aren't smart enough to realize that writing  Chuck/Jenny sex would be suicide, I highly doubt they're smart enough to remember that their gossip obsessed, technologically savvy characters actually have cell phones.

    Congratulations to Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage on successfully MURDERING Gossip Girl! I think at this point the best thing would be to induce selective amnesia and pretend that the show got cancelled before Season Three even started so we can all move on from this embarrassing mess of character assassinations.
