  1. Does this site make you feel ashamed to still love GG?

    Yes, yes, yes.

To me, some of the attitudes on here are a real turn-off.  I don't mind the constructive complaints, but I do mind the personal aggression and the mockery.  I used to love this site, but now the forums are otherworldly for sure.  I guess anonymity will do that.  There are ways of disagreeing that aren't shallow, rude or just plain immature.  I don't care if not everyone agrees with me on here, that is the point, but I do feel we should respect each other and some of the discussion has gone too far.

I'm glad someone else has been feeling the same way, and that I wasn't perceiving things differently.

  2. end of the headband era?

Come to think of it, the fashion so far this season has been really subpar.  Usually I am a fan, but I have been really disappointed with some of the unflattering looks they are sticking Blair in this season.

  3. end of the headband era?

Exactly, Lively Leighton-- since when does Blair Waldorf take Dan Humphrey's opinion on fashion or societal rules seriously?  Bring back the headbands, they are such a good look on Leighton in general.  Also, whatever came of Blair's new minions?  Nothing?

  4. okay, I need to get on my soapbox

I'm hoping that the cake scene is some sort of dream sequence, but that would just be foolish and naive of me.  After all, the audience just loves to see Blair "get what she deserves," every single episode.  Not.  As for me, I'm getting a bit bored of that particular theme..

  5. Am I the only one who liked this episode?

I generally enjoyed it, but yes, certain elements tonight were off.  Jenny's queendom is tame...girl, your yogurt stint was up in season one.  It is no longer edgy or clever in the slightest.

Emilee, fuckery describes it so very well.

  6. What Would've Made My Life.

EmilyEcstatic- So agreed.  If Jack would have walked through that door, I would have known that it was on.  I suppose I can wait until later, but come on... we need one OMFG moment to get things rolling again.  I haven't had one of those in... I can't even remember.

  7. okay, I need to get on my soapbox

I am in total agreement with hm, prettyyyy much everything is saying.  I keep repeating myself, but Gossip Girl just needs that bite back.  The half-assed writing that's being produced this season isn't doing it for me, what with plot holes and abrupt endings galore.

  8. All Things Chair

    Cute design!

I just rewatched Victor/Victrola, and fell in love with Chair all over again.

We deserve some more steamy limo scenes.  Come on, writers!

  9. How do you guys think GG is and why

In the books, I thought GG was Serena, as Gossip Girl began with her disappearance (prequel), and then started again with her reappearance (series).  Also, the series on Blair and Serena ended with GG writing that she was staying in NYC, as Serena also decided on doing.

However, I think that Cecily von Ziegesar stated in an interview that GG was just someone anonymous, or at least a metaphor for society and the global community.

As the series portrays it, I don't think GG is any of the main characters.  I don't think we'll ever find out.  I loved the parts of the series in which it seemed like you were about to find out, as well as the TV series finale in which Serena tried to hunt her down... it's just a great mystery.

Great question.  I'd like to see more of GG in season 3 though... I feel that the removal of GG is what is lacking.  It used to be a major plot-driver, and delivered some unforgettable OMFG moments.
