There were a few nice moments. I liked the bits with Georgina and when everyone was looking for Charlie and Blair. There were some nice lines that made me chuckle. I liked that Serena's brain woke up this episode for the first time in ages. Good that she's in LA, but her picking up a job just like that was a little silly even for GG. I quite like the idea of Dan's book, it'll be interesting to see how that pans out and how much of the novel is fact and how much is fiction.
On the negative side, they really laid on the Chair Vampire love language too thickly, it just came off really cheesy and unreal to me. Who were they trying to convince / placate? The Bar Mitzvah scene was weird and out of place, it just seemed like a crude effort to include the Chair on chairs gag.
Chuck was the martyr this episode, having been the evil villian before. They continue to write his character with no depth. He's either the hero or the villian, why can't he be both at the same time? Do the writers have no faith in Ed's ability to portray a range of emotions in the same episode? I would also appreciate it if he would speak up - I honestly have to turn up the volume when Chuck's speaking.
Blair and Louis just felt wrong, but that's probably what I was supposed to feel. I didn't like Blair in this episode - the baby voice was back with a vengence and she just seemed weak and fickle. The pregnancy thing is pointing to her, but that's just got soap opera written all over it. "Whose baby is it?" is hardly an original, witty storyline.
All in all a 5/10, but not helped by the fact that the whole storyline was brutally spoilered.

I was disappointed with direction of Blair's character in the final arc of the season. Early on Blair decided she wanted to be someone who was seen as an independent, powerful person who wasn't always misguided (for I can't say guided in her case) by her emotions. To end the season with her cheating, lying, continuing the engagement to the person she wasn't really all that much in love with (she was ready to break up with in favor of being with another man), and essentially being decided for when it came to her choice of who she wanted to be with to me defeated the purpose of this season for Blair. Blair ended up being week, confused, and incapable of making sound choices regarding her own life. She also lost a lot of credibility in the process. Sad really.

I can't believe Chuck has hurt Blair again.. She told him she was happy with him and wanted to leave with him and not with the prince. He let her go although she didn't want to. He made her cry AGAIN ! That's why I ship Dair xD

Such a disappointment... I don't blame de spoilers, because I guess even if I hadn't read them before, I would still be disappointed... what got me by surprise was actually liking the part i thought i'd hate: the Charlie sl. I really liked how she went back to Florida or wherever that really was to return just later and with Georgina's help no less... And you thought Serena would recognize her own cousin? TROLOLOL
The Chair part seemed forced and exaggeratedly mellow. And the sex scene was cut, srlsy? lol...
I liked the Dan's book thing too. So turns out that it was really what Safran said about one thing that would "change the livese in UES forever"....

Amie, i dont think it was like that at all. yes he wants whats best for her and with that blessing i think it was more 'i want u to be happy, and if this makes u happy dont eff it up bc of me' geeze i think u would have been unhappy either way! if hed ended up with her everyone would have called him selfish.Posted 5/17/2011 3:01:04 PM #

i dont think they should have slept together and blair was visibly upset about having to break it off with louis. so i think that influenced chuck... besides blouis is courting with rings for god sakes, come s5 she can decide whether or not she loves him for herself. i think chuck just kept her from jumping the gun. and dispite my screename he has not been my favorite these passed 2 seasons, i dont agree witn how hes been written but oh well. we 'll see wat s 5 has to offerPosted 5/17/2011 3:08:00 PM #
