Okay, I've to admit I watched exactly two episodes of that show. That was last week. Only 1.14 and 1.21. Why? Because Leighton played in those episodes. I think the show was - not so great - but Leighton was. I loved her in the role of mean girl who does the right thing. But the show - well, when I want to watch detective serie where I know after the first ten minutes who did the crime I'd watch Scooby doo.

so wait. you were a fan of leighton before gg? or did you just go back and watch those two epis after her gg fame? nevertheless you're missing out on a great show. i think all shows have that thing about them, whether it's mystery, comedy, drama or supernatural. i like mysteries so i like that. either way, it was critically acclaimed and people hailed k bell as the next sarah michelle gellar. and i happened to love bvts too. and ps lmao i am sooo not a leighton basher but those two epis have blair waldorf written all over them. which is why i made that remark in that blake bashing thread.

I loved Leighton looong time before GG. I started watching GG bc of her in the first place. I loved her in House and numb3rs. (I saw her in numb3rs first, then remembered her when I saw her in House and finally started watching GG when I read a press article about GG starting with her in a leading role) And last week I watched VM bc I didn't know before she was in these episodes.
wttb Please don't get mad but I really need to stop the DVD after the "You raped me!" "No you wanted it!" "Then why did you ran away afterwards?" "Because I'm your brother!" conversation. But tell me what your favorite episode was and I'll give it another try.

LMFAO. I'll try to break it down GG style. Veronica was like the Blair of the sitch. And Duncan was Nate. 'Before' the series, Veronica and Duncan were involved. Veronica was considered apart of that popular rich cali clique even though she didn't have the money. But because her best friend was Lily (the Serena), Duncan's sister, and her boyfriend was Duncan she was just 'in'. But then Duncan broke up with her and intitally V didn't understand why. Lily was murdered, and her life continued to just fall apart. She attended this party to prove that she didn't give a shit about status (i think she was uninvited) and she was slipped the date rape drug and was raped. SO yeah that pretty much happened in the pilot in flashbacks to show that it happened before. She spent the rest of the season, trying to figure out what happened with her and Duncan, who murdered Lily and who raped her. The Kane family never liked Veronica and Duncan anyway and hated her more because of her father's accusations. Apparently though Veronica's mom had sexual history with Duncan's dad. If I am not mistaken, I think Duncan's mom told him that they might share the same father the day of the party. So ergo, Duncan breaks up with her. And then at that party, they both were drugged by GHB (duncan by his best friend logan, the chuck bass type) cause he wanted to get Duncan to loosen up and get with Veronica. I guess in his fucked up mind he thought he was helping. Anyway they had sex (he wasn't the one who raped her though) and he woke up terrified because of how he thought they might be related. ANYWAY it's long winded but that's the story with that. Veronica and Duncan turn out not to be related, the father that she had in the series was her real father.
BUT i guess if you wanted to give it a try still, try the pilot? it's always the best place to start while looking at a new show.

Okay people, the whole V.Mars conversation is a painful subject to bring up!!! Just like I bet Chuck and Blair will be when after this seaosn they will no longer be Chair, and probably never will be since I doubt the show will survive past seaosn 4.
Anyhow, Stella, I agree with you... just like with GG when I watched the first fiew episodes I hated the who... I really did cuase I hate CSI and CIA Miami etc. crap!!! HATE IT! Agatha Christie's Poirot is the real detective drama and artistic accompishement... and the other... well let's just say that nominating Barbie in the Nutcracker for an Oscar Awards of Best motion picture prize, is less crazy!
I hate the whole Duncan thing, and though the murder was a mystery and I liked pretending that it would be possible for a girl in highschool to work as a spy detective... I still hated it since it was just too much like a Soanish soap opera

And then my friend told me that their story was somehow alike Chair and I had to watch it! SO yes though I din't like season 1 due to the whole Lilly/incest /rape storyline , and I only watched LoVe (Logan &Veronica) scenes... I did end up liking season 2 and season 3 actually. (though in seaosn 3 Veronica started to annoy me... but Logan didn't!!!)
SO my point is to me V Mars show is just like GG, I didn't even watch it before Lo+Ve romance, and just like in GG I didn't wacth that show before Chuck+Blair happened.
Luckely for me the show did sort of end and went throughout with Logan and VEronica in love and having unresolved feelings and great romantic and HOT scenes, while here on GG it seems that the last GREAT scene with Chuck and Blair was in 2x25!
As for the fact that last episode sucked. Well, I broke my strike and actually forced myself to watch this episode after not watching 3x04-3x09, and as expected it was a huge disappointment. Gaga was nothing special really, I only liked the dress. I still hate Serena and what they did to her character making her and thus focusing on her and setting a theme for the seaosn = Marilyn Monroe aka hot blonde sleeping sround and cuasing trouble for anyone and everyone!
The Chuck and Blair scenes SUCKED... Chair does not do pecks on the mouth... I mean HONESTLY what's next? A hug and then a wave?
And then there was the chuck and Jenny interaction which was even more disturbing than the 3x04 one! I mean that was the reason I gave up on the show for the last episodes.. though the storyline is supposed to be all brotherrly sisterly , the disgusting leering looks , not only frin Chuck by the way, and the suggestive remarks and dialougues! Honeslty Chuck is more passionate about Jenny's life than his Blair-Bear!!! *sniff*
I don't know if the actors were told to play it that way or if they chose to andthe director was too bpred to correct them, but everytime I watch the 2 having scenes together I feel sick and thin kof incest and want to throw up!
Honestly I feel like I should trust my instincts more! Last season after 2x21 I guessed that though THAT scene with Jenny and Hcuck was good and I liked the interaction... after reading what people thought and what creators and producers commented, I ahd a bad feeling that somethin glike this would happen with chuck and Jenny! Why? Because the writers cannot keep two character just friends on this show. Eother they sleep together at some point - or they don't have scenes together at all and never are around each other!
I only hope that they will not make Blair into another Vanessa and SErena going around between the guys, hoping that they will focus on Jenny's virginity and drama around that and makin gher into a flapper and leave my Blair alone...

Somebody suggested that Jenny is like a mixture of Blair and Serena, wanting to be friends with Serena but wanting to be as powerful and upper level as Blair Waldorf (cause we all know that it was never really Queen S, it is just the wrong letter, Anne Boylyn was wearing a B, B as for Queen!!!)
ANd that Jenny is slowly becomming Blair... and isn't she? I mean she is having a flinf with a badboy, she had Nate Archibald (aka Blair's left-overs) to escort her to her debute, she has more enemies than friends,
and she subconsciously hates Blair
I mean think about it, Blair is everything she slowly becomes, actions speaking louder than words, so Blair is like Jenny's Serena - the one that she wants to be but cannot... only in this case Jenny lacks the fact that she is not mroe special than Blair and will never be a true royalty!
She judges Blair and her headbands, while standing in Blair's old "highshool-shoes" having fingergloves as her signature and minions that barely know her and would ditch her in a second behind her! No wonder Blair did not care on Cotillion... I mean Jenny doesn't even see that she lready lost the battle and has become the wanna-be version of Queen Blair!
Only Jenny has no Nate and hcuck either.. so she takes Blair's which is why I am worried...
I mean the WORST EVER NIghtmare would be if we had Chuck being JEnny's first and that being in an elivator or maybe in some other car! Or maybe the roof!
I am so scared to admit that after reading this prediction I cannot exclude this from happening... cause really after all the crap they pulled . can we really say that : "No, that would never happen?!"

lmao no i am sorry. you're wrong. they had a vanessa type. that was wallace's girlfriend. kinda sassy, righteous and hypocritical girl who the fans all hated too. but unlike gg's creator JS, rob thomas actually acknowledge the fan's hate and took the blame for it because he made a mistake in a storyline and that charrie was gone in the middle of season 2 i think.

SOME elements might mirror each other but Veronica Mars is nothing like GG. If teh writing wasnt' so plum horrible with it's annoying character inconstistencies then maybe a comparison would be accurate. but as long as the colorful characters of gg keep doing things week after week they normally wouldn't then sorry but no. in some ways yeah veronica and logan were like blair and chuck. the 'good girl' with the morally bankrupt bad boy. and yeah even logan's abuse from his father kind of mirror chuck's neglect from bart, but even if he did lose apart of that bad boy appeal because he found true love in veronica he never lost his edge completely. each logan that was presented in each season was a freakin mirror of the last season. not 'ooooh lookey here logan fell in love so i guess it's okay to castrate him now'
logan lost his father too. AND his mother. his father was freakin murdered! and his girlfriend, whom he loved dearly at one point too was murdered and sorry to say but he kind of handled that more gracefully than chuck did. and at the very least, even while veronica and logan were figuring out feelings for each other, when they finally made that jump neither of them lost, sacrificed much or completely became undignified in order to keep that love. can't say the same for chair. so that to me makes logan + veronica ten times better than chair could ever be. sorry but that's just my opinion.

Actually I was shocked by your review to the poor girls story about Blair's nightmare but now you're acting out completely. PLEASE calm down or get some valerian or liquor or something, okay?
