the only actors and actress that appeard in all eposdie of both season of GG are blake lively , leighton meester and Penn while Ed and Nate were not in all eposides they may miss 2 or 3 from all eposides !! and I think the only one who should paid equally are blake and leighton !!!

i agree. i do think leighton and blake should be paid equally. but in ed's defense, his storyline since season 1 has really upgraded. in season one he was moreso a bit player but in season two he was as prominent as penn was. and he'd been in all 25 ( i think it was 25 ) episodes, where as chace was sporadic in both seasons. so yeah, i am definitely not seeing why he'd get paid more than penn, leighton and ed but whatever.

i remember when the spoilers were running rampant about which character was gonna be killed off of gg. (before we saw it was bart) and it was between vanessa, ( i PRAYED ) because she wasn't winning over fans and the author of the books and creator of the character went on record saying she didn't like what they've done to vanessa. and i remember chace's nate was on the list too because he was demanding more money and then of course, bart was on the list. i think there were one or two more but i can't remember who those characters were. anyway, i think it's safe to say chace got his wish (although i still dont' see why). so maybe the actors like meli and others have said, probably need to take his lead. with our luck the producers would hit budget costs and be forced to let some people go... i don't even NEED to say who.
we can all hope right?

i'm not an expert, but it's known, that actors don't necessarily get paid by their skills, but market value, especially on the US market.
i'm not quite sure if your source is really reliable, because as far as i know chace was also a total no name before the show started, ed was trained at the national youth theatre and already got a part in a minghella production, which is quite good for a that young guy, so i don't really think that chace's market value is eminantely higher than ed's.
though i can imagine that he might have a kind of heart-throb status for the younger audience and therefor might get more advertising propositions, and finally may earn more.
well of course, i don't really know their contracts but i can hardly believe that ed's or leighton's market value didn't increase since season 1...

the shit hole will go down without all of five stars of the GG which are Blake , leighton , Penn,Chace and Ed !! if one of them left the show may cause down !! we are not underrated blake or chace but I think why we are mad because leighton, penn and Ed are also deserve the same for me I am mad just beacuse leighton she deserve equally as blake if they said Blake and leighton get the higher it will be fair !!!!! the whole story about those two girls !! and the rest especially Ed and Penn deserve a little bit less !!
