I think maybe its not completely the writers fault with chuck and blair but more that some fans have way too higher expectations of what they want from them

YES I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU THERE! LOL!

Yeah I think the high expectations are mostly based on all of the crazy Chair fanfics that fans  have written that have either turned Chuck & Blair into the ultimate emotionally mature "there for each other" meaningful "perfect" couple, or skanky freaks who have Rated X sex 24/7.

Neither are Chuck & Blair, plus with the way the writers are pacing the show this season, it makes for an interesting task writing for them when they aren't the seemingly total main focus of the show.  I think they aren't doing a bad job because it makes the scenes with them have all the more of an impact.  Sort of the pearl in the oyster to look forward to per episode.

I think they'll probably have more passion later on, it'll just be something to look forward to.  (Maybe part of the issue with the seeming "lack of passion" is because LeighEd have learned how to or are made to "TV screen kiss"...like every other couple...and not KISS kiss like in seasons past?)

Let's not forget they're trying not to isolate them from the rest of the world, hence the Constance storyline and Serena getting up in Chuck's restaurant venture. Granted, could've been done in many other ways, but you just know they tried hard. :D

Exhibit A: Nate. Poor, poor Nate. You just know they failed with that one. It's taking forever for his storyline to "integrate" and while we can see it coming, they could've thought of something better than putting him as filler for the first few episodes. Then again, that's bang for buck right there.

Hey, there is some seriously awesome and literally EPIC Chair fanfiction out there, so I won't say that's a 100% proper excuse. But the pairing does mean different things to different people, from fluff to angst to smut, and that's why we have all these threads for discussion. :)

Of course, but I was just saying that since there are so many "versions" of Chair out there in the fanfic universe, everyone expects the TV version to live up to their favorite fanfic version, and since the entire show isn't just about Chuck & Blair, and it isn't on HBO or Showtime, it can never really live up to everyone's dream for them...since everyone's dream is a little something different, dykwim?

(BTW, speaking of Showtime, based on those clips I saw of the other show Ed guested on, the main difference I saw between that show and any other show on the CW/Network TV, was that some of the characters were dropping f-bombs every other word to make the show seem more "controversal" but imho swearing doesn't really make a show that more compelling or better than some on network TV.)

you can do nudity too. and far much gruesome stuff and the sex scenes are great with showtime.

In the beginning...She seemed to be the love of his life...and now, even though we know they're a couple...now it seems that it's inevetable that they become boring and common...well thats for most people.....most people do not meet and marry their soul mates..they think they are at first, but it usually ends up not the case. Well Chuck and Blair are soul mates, and should be portrayed as such. The PASSION should not end just cuz they're a couple now..it should get even more intense. That 's whats missing. When we first knew they were going to be the end game...I really pictured them in my mind, like that couple in the note book... now I don't get that vibe, and it pisses me off. The writers can do better than this...I want to see possesivness and Jealousy (even if its wrong, and they eventually get straighted out...I want to see it) so I know in the future,  even if they're behaving themselves, thoses feeling are still there, just not acted on,  it's there underneath just waiting to come out. To me we should be getting those kinds of vibes...not the kind we're getting now (like they're already taking each other for granted) Don't get me wrong..they are extremely cute right now and I do like that...esp the bantering...and witty remarks. Just let us see Chuck seething just a tad, when B gets attention from some one else...and vise versa. exp of great married couples: notebook, hart to hart, the thin man (old movie series) all except the first couple were extremley rich and fun to watch
