it is actually sad..SO sad..how completely obvious the difference in every single aspect of this show is between seasons 1 and 2 and the latter ones. It is ridiculous, the most obvious is the standard of acting to be totally honest. Yes, they ALL had their great moments, but Leighton for example...take the scene in 2x14 in front of the mirror. How NATURAL and just plain emotive was it? it was like there was no effort involved, yet we all know she put EVERYTHING into it. and that's the difference, in seasons 5 in particular everything was just so OFF with her, her voice, her facial expressions, her movements. there was absolutely no natural flow, no connection with her character or the audiecne. same goes with the others as well. It is so upsetting sometimes watching season 2, for me season one was just AMAZING, the show was in its absolute prime, the storylines were so fresh and new and executed so perfectly. But season 2, the show just felt...seasoned, the acting took a total step up (even though it was SO good anyway) especially Leighton and Ed, they just came into their own TOTALLY. It felt like a well crafted movie, everything made SENSE. Their season arcs just made sense, it is just an absolute shame.

    COMPLETELY AGREE WITH YOU, SHAN!

It's so heartbreakingly beautiful that he only ever loved her and he never stopped loving her. (since 1x07!!!) I wish Blair hadn't ever had her s5 phase b/c it kind of ruined things. He always always always loved her and it just seems like though she loved him, it wasn't as constant or as unconditional. Idk, I just hate the writers basically :P

actually, i think she also always loved him, but the only difference was that she tried to deny it to herself and everyone else. IMO it's pretty obvious that blair never fell out of love with chuck, she just ran from it sometimes. i think it scared her just how much she loved him. it scared her that her love for him was so unconditional. even after the IP and chenny and raina, she loved him. i get that. also, another difference is that blair is better at fooling herself into thinking she's happy so that's why she could stay together with louis for a longer time than chuck stayed with eva or raina. that, and the fact that she was pregnant with the frog prince's spawn. she didn't think she could leave after finding out he was the father. =/

but yea, i hate the writers too, basically. =P
