Clear something uop for me: What kind of Chair do the fans want?
-
I want them to be equals and the reason they were that in season 1 and early season 2 was because of the personalities that they had then. That is what made them fit so well.
word. i think the biggest problem is that their relationship seems unbalanced right now, just like the second half of season 2, when blair was so mature and chuck was a mess. now is the opposite. but i think blair is growing up last episodes, let's hope it continues this way, next episode looks good for her caracter. and i think chuck's caracter is gonna change a lot when bart comes back

It's almost frustrating, isn't it? This process of talking about what we would have liked for our fave couple. But I think the fact that we're all moved to do so shows how awesome the characters were until this season. So here's my take.
- The Return of Hot Chair: I have pretty much come to terms with the fact that we will never see Chuck and Blair shag, but that's not really what the inherent hotness of the couple was about. It was that no-holds-barred, can't-keep-our-hands-off-each-other, jealous-rage, immoderate feelings that are so unhealthy in real life, but so intoxicated to watch. I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say what we want is a little bit of jealousy followed by a steamy make-out session. It would be such an easy fix: a couple of Blair getting male attention (after all, she may be an NYU pariah but she's still a hottie), Chuck flying into jealous rages, then a steamy make-up session. It doesn't even have to be a main S/L, if they're so keen to give air time to those less interesting pairings on the show. Even though I'm pretty unmoved by the lovey-dovey scenes when I watch them, I do find myself smiling at the recollection. I would just like those random sweet scenes after an episode of more scheming and animal attraction!
- Blair's character: So I see what the writers are doing. They want to demonstrate that Blair's bitchery and conniving is too immature for college and real life. But, I have to point out that we've already covered this. At the end of last season, Blair blows off the Mean Girls because she's moving on. As a side note, even though it's not a good lesson for the kids, it was B's ability to manipulate for her own advancement that makes the character so much fun. Girlfriend needs to get off the bench and back in the game. As a sidenote, Blair's minions at school were not just minions. They were also dysfunctional, bitchy friends. I just do not get the same vibe from Blair's new NYU minions. Perhaps making an actual friend (I'm going to vote for male friend to set up Chuck's jealousy) would be a good move. And hookers don't count.
- Chuck's character: This one is the kicker. As has been observed above, he seems to have morphed from an 18yr old bad boy to a 50yr old stock-broker. Whenever Blair comes near him, I get the sense that he's only just countenancing her - like she's some immature puppy who he indulges, even as she annoys him. Perhaps it is time to have Chuck stop building his empire and take note of his girlfriend. He is, after all, an 18yr old boy . Also, is it just me, or is he really not into the steamy scenes anymore? That was one thing i enjoyed in season 2 - that sense that even as he was frustrated at her, he still had to have her. Anyway, it's been covered above. I'm just echoing your statements.

Wait you wrote "The Unbearable Lightness of Being Chuck and Blair"? Cause I just started reading that one, since A LOT of people have told me how awesome it is.
And I agree with what you wrote. That's pretty much how I feel about this season too.

I want them how the were like in 1x10!! Except more passionate. I still love chair season 3 but they need more steamy scenes like hi society. They always have to cut the hot scenes between them ya know?

People like the fight to be together, not when they are together. You may THINK you want them dating, but you loved the chase and the pressure of them trying to confess their feelings to each other.

I came in here to say: Nyx Underwood, I LOVE YOUR FICS.
And I'm sure I'm not the only person in here who thinks you portray and understand Chuck, Blair, and Chair so well. It gives me hope. The writers should read your works then take some goshdarn notes.

But, see, as individuals you can see them fighting to be what they want to be, to NOT fail. And as a couple you can see that nobody gets them like each other. Perhaps later on it could be some tragic realization that they're not right for each other but they can't live without each other either, but I don't see that for them. They're just a little too stable, conventional, normal right now, and that's WEIRD for Chair.

Nyx Underwood i love your fics, you understand chair so much better than the writers

the chase and seing them fighting against their feelings were amazing to watch, but i do think that as a couple they have so much potential too, read the amazing fanfictions we have about them as a couple. the problem is the writers seem to not understand their caracters and dynamic. why cant they show us they being evil and sexy together, it makes me sad because chuck and blair are such complex and amazing caracters and still the writers are wasting them in stupid s/ls like blair not fitting on NYU and chuck being a responsible business man. they are 18, let them have fun, make mistakes, have sex.
