Yeah but I still felt like it wasn't fair. The writers are constantly showing her give up things for him and I wanted to see him doing something like that in return. I guess if the last part of season 2 would have been about him trying to win her back and being there for her, I would've been more ok with this.

When I saw Chuck at the end of 2.15, I thought for sure that they would've had Chuck suddenly try to transform himself into the version of Chuck we're seeing now, uber responsible, trying to pick up the pieces and the mess Jack tried to make of Bass Industries, and the unfortunate 'end' Blair gave to their relationship.  And technically that's how they should've ended S2 (and forgot about the SL with Elle and the episode that led to Vuck), so that he was fresh and ready to help Blair with her issues, he would've said "ILY" sooner, and the season/series could've ended more logically.  (If GG was a 2 hr movie or a 6 hr mini series instead of a TV series, that's how it would've ended I'm sure.)

Now that i think abt it, what did Chuck really give up for Blair?  (besides womanizing and all that jaz)

you may have a point there, i must say..

  4. maybe in the dire attempt of the writers to tickle the satiety center of 'em chair fans, they ended up doing otherwise because they overthink! chuck fails to reciprocate whatever blair's doing for him so far..major turn off. c'mon writers buy your sanities back and give them what they wanted!

I think the fanfic the unbearable lightness of being chuck & blair is how I would have wanted them to proceed as a couple...working out thier issues and getting closer and closer each time until you end with the epic couple they were ment to be with that chemistry between them. because of that fanfic...I just sit back and watch almost impassivley because it just seemed to go wrong on so many levels ...esp in the logic department. Blair would not have comprimised her relationship with chuck at this point with such a trivial scheme as the kiss, especially with how he has been acting toward her...all she would have had to to is ask him...it just didn't make sense to me...and then when she calls Jack for the license (which if the kiss episode didn't go down would have made sense, because she was scheming to help chuck)it seems even more absurd! She just was not that stupid in S1...even when she was desperate...she was never this stupid.

i have to say that im not really happy with how the writers are doing chair either, but i just watched the sneak peek of 3x09 and i kind of love it, i think they are acting more like theirselves. we have a litle of banter, chuck making sexual jokes, and i love how blair isnt insecure about he going on a lost weekend with nate.

Heh - thanks guys.  It's so nice of you guys to compliment my fic.  But honestly, all credit has to go to the writers of the show, who inspired it in the first place.  That's why I know they do have it in them. I had to laugh at that caption contest entry for the Vanessa pic - "why are the season 1 writers tied up in the corner?"  Sometimes it does seem like a totally different tone.  I think 2x13 was the last episode I really loved (which is why I started The Unbearable Lightness there).
