Dair fans, why do you prefer them over Chair?

but i thought she just did the whole seduce and destroy method as a means to get close to chuck. i say that because she was all too happy to have 'lost' the bet. or won.. or whatever.

i agree, but  from chuck's POV she was just playing a game, i think he just realized that she really wanted him in the scene  she said "i lost, you won". and vanessa was wrong and stupid blackmailing blair, but  believe me, i really dislike her caracter and hate HATE cv, but i do think she was being good to chuck, she was telling him the things he needed to hear "you're not who i thought you were", she was believing on him. so i can understand why chuck ignored blair, to him she was just playing a game, while vanessa was actually supporting him. i dont think he had no real feeling for vanessa, but he saw her as person who saw another side of him.

i think getting with dan would be the opposite of getting with chuck, that's for sure. little to no humilation at all. and i don't think blair would throw herself at him.

the only time i remembered blair really throwing herself at chuck was 2x25. in 2x08 she was playing a game, and it was kind of the same thing of what chuck did in 2x03. in 2x19 she just wanted sex, "proove that nothing matters", she wasnt trying to get anything back from him. and of course getting with dan would be different of gettin with chuck. chuck always had relationship's issues, he didnt think he was capable to be in a serious relationship, he thought he would screw up. and that's why 2x08 is one of my favourite cb's episodes, he was honest to her.

dan is judgemental, but don't think for a second that blair isn't. it's just that the way she displays it is a bit differently than dan. for example, it seems that dan just displays his judgement everywhere and to everyone. serena, jenny, nate..his own father. it seems that he's 'hard' on everyone in his world except to vanessa. now THAT don't make much sense but whatever, we're not discussing that douchebag here. but blair on the other hand.. she might be a bit nicer to her friends, but to just about everyone else? she's just as harsh if not moreso than he is. she's upper class, living her high quality life and looking down on others who aren't. dan just looks down on those he feels are morally incorrect.

And you think this is a good thing? This is supposed to help them have a happy healthy relationship?

no less healthy than season 2. but that's okay right?

but those were some of the reasons i think it COULD work. one big reason i think it should would be because of the balancing act. i'd love to see dan met with a real challenge. let's face it, serena is no challenge. in fact she's the opposite. all you need to do is be nice to her and you get free access into her bed. she barely made dan 'work' for anything. come to think of it, most of the females he'd been with gave him no real challenge.

So you want Dan to tame her?

how did you get the word 'tame' in anything i wrote? i am pretty sure that when writing it i wasn't thinking of blair as some wild beast or anything really to be 'tamed'. i was more thinking on dan's end. and yes, miss b would be quite a challenge. i don't think SHE needs anymore though. season 2 was challenging for her enough.

i think getting with dan would be the opposite of getting with chuck, that's for sure. little to no humilation at all. and i don't think blair would throw herself at him.

See this is where the problem is. You seem to believe that Blair had to "humiliate" herself to get Chuck. There was nothing humiliating about it. What she told him she loved him and he didn't say it back? Telling someone you love them and not expecting anything in return isn't degrading in any way because genuine love is a selfless emotion that doesn't ask for anything in return.

funny, how that is the only thing to respond to. but i guess the schemes that backfired. the constant throwing of one self isn't considered humiliating. i bet if it was any other ship it'd be lame. but oh noes, never chair. it was humiliating. unbecoming if you will. and just plain weird. i didn't know 'love' could be like that. well if it is i am damn sure glad i'm not apart of that fuckery.

I think it's funny how some dair fans think they are so much better than chair fans just because they have different oppinions. i really dont think that blair humilliated herself for chuck, both were in the game,  and i think chuck makes blair a strong and more mature person. that was showed when she was there for him when his father died or when she gave up the painting because of him, but if you think different, that's ok, but dont tell me i am part of a fuckery just because i have a different oppinion, it's funny how you guys act like you are so much better than all the chair fans you love to bash when in fact you act 10x worse

lmfao but it's SOOOOO ORIGINAL for the bitchy virgin to get with the slutty playboy? please, tell me how chair is so original?

i am part of a fuckery just because i have a different oppinion, it's funny how you guys act like you are so much better than all the chair fans you love to bash when in fact you act 10x worse

i think you might be apart of fuckery if you are so close minded that you can't even see other possibilities. because you either a) can't bare the thought of your favorite ship breaking up b.) any and all thought of anything else brought to the table just outrages you so  and then it ties back to a again.

as far as 'dair' fans thinking they are better. i don't get that impression all. i think they think they are different because a) the sheer thought of a different ship other than the ones they love so much don't upset them b) an open mind is a sound mind.

not better just different. but perception is key i guess.

A ship based purely on hypothetical "fuckery" and assumptions about two characters that under normal Gossip Girl circumstance would never come together. I mean if you want to see the writers completely annihilate all of the characteristics that make Dan and Blair who they are just so they "hook up" then sureeeeee!

^^ comments like that never get old. maybe it's just the GG novel fan in me screaming this and i'm sure a bunch of die hard chair shippers would go up  in arms but here goes anyway ONCE UPON A TIME CHAIR WAS THAT COUPLE THAT GOT TOGETHER NOT OF NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCE..  i seriously think that if the writers didn't have a hard on about pushing the 'WTF' envelope as much as possible, this would not be a discussion right now. but hey it works for YOU so anything else that don't scream what you do is wrong right?

lmfao but it's SOOOOO ORIGINAL for the bitchy virgin to get with the slutty playboy? oh i forgot slutty badboy playboy and everything else that makes chuck bass a total cliche. to which btw, if you take away a platinum amex or two and add in a beach i could have SWORN i saw a ship just like this on the original 90210.

Exactly. People tend to 'forget' that Chair happened basically out of the blue, and people loved it. If the writers didn't like OMFG moments then we still would probably have Nate/Blair and Dan/Serena, and what perfect relationships those would be *sarcasm*.

So yeah, bring on Dair. Chair, to me, is getting pretty boring anyways. And that's my opinion.

You know your argument is weak when you have to resort to using the books as a defense.

    Meli you are a god.
