Dair fans, why do you prefer them over Chair?

Are you guys forgetting that she was with Chuck in s1 too? I know they weren´t in a real relationship but they still had a lot of interaction then. And I don´t remember Chuck making her insecure about herself.
He didn't. In fact, I'd argue that he made her feel better about herself since she was a lot happier and less stuffy during that 2-week affair with Chuck.

"Stupid for you to want her to be anything other than she is." - C to N, 2.21
Apparently that's not true because
(a) Blair was, is, and will always be a wreck
(b) and Chuck is a symptom of that wreck (I still don't know what that means)

Okay, basically my reasoning for wanting a future Dair hookup would be that I simply could never imagine them happening, from the differences in their characters and personality to their status’s and because of that I feel like they could be amazing. I know there are alot of people who never expected Chair to happen and they did and look at their fan base now.
I myself am a Chair fan and would love them to be end game, yet I can still admit that other ships, whether it be Dair or Nair or whatever could be good. I think a main reason for Chair fans alike myself to not want Dair to happen is because if Dair does happen there is a big possibility that Chuck would end up with somebody else for a time, if not just for revenge then simply because he likes someone else and because Blair was the one that tamed Chuck and was the only one he ever really wanted, him in a relationship with anyone but Blair makes what they had seem alot less special.
Like others have said, Chair wont be together for the whole show, so why not give Dair a shot at some point? Otherwise it will just be random Nair on/off-ness along with continuous guest star relationships and Chuck man-whoring all over New York. Like for example most people hating Vuck, myself included, but if it never happened, we would never know we didn’t like them if we hadn’t seen it and the same goes for Dair.
I have to add that Blair definitley felt better about herself during her two week rendevous with Chuck, and Chuck did try, although in not very nice ways to get Blair to stay away from him when he was having a break down. I feel like the writers want Blair to be her own puch bag and the whole masorchist thing get's awfully tiring. They want to keep her insecurities known to the viewiers so they can make her have panic attacks now and then to dramatise everything by adding them randomly into the storyline. The writers seem to hate happy Blair.

I'm a Dair shipper, but my mind goes back and forth. I would have to see Dair together to decide if I want them to be end game. Right now I'm with most of y'all on the hookup part.
I would have to say that Dan, while judgmental of the Upper East Side, has become more understanding since he now has wads of cash to carry himself (; Haha. I think he would help Blair. While Serena couldn't be 'free' as some of you were saying, she was good. I'm not sure about you, but I wouldn't want my significant other partying getting drunk and hooking up with other guys. So It's good he tamed her while they were together. Now new Dan should help Blair a little bit. He could help her fit in. Blair has some emotional issues that could make her a great writer, and that would get her in with Dan and Vanessa's crowd, and she could feel like she controls something. Then one night Dan and Blair are cleaning up after a party maybe and things to wild? (; hahahaha.

Okay I'm a Chair shipper and I wan't them to be endgame but you can't deny that a Dair hookup would be hot!
Yea the same way he didn't criticize and patronize Serena during the entire duration of their relationship.

That's different though. Serena and Blair are two completely different people. I think that if Dan tried to critisize/change Blair Blair would probably bitch slap him or something. They have a potentional love/hate relationship. And as people have said Dan has no reason to critisize Blair because he's coming into money.
And btw, Chair never really had a love/hate relationship. It was more of a friends to love relationship!\.....

Why Dan and Blair aren’t disgusting/horrible
Everyone is complaining and arguing over Dair vs. Chair. Now, for a fact, I love both of them, but this is why Dair COULD WORK
1.) First off, they have the love/hate relationship going for them. It is pretty obvious that Dan and Blair have a mutual disliking of each other most of the time. And then, there are those instances, when you can see them connect on a personal level. Yes, I am talking about 1x04 and 2x08.
Dan’s speech to Blair is a prime example that !.) Dan doesn’t HATE Blair like everyone points out, 2.) He can actually be NICE to Blair when he wants’, and 3.) He cares. Maybe not all the time, but he isn’t a heartless bastard when it comes to Blair.
At the beginning of the episode, he basically called Blair a bitch. But after his talk with her, they became uneasy….associates, for a lack of a better word. They…mutually accepted each other.
In 2x08, he helps Blair. Yes, he only helps Blair because he wants’ to be friends with Serena, but he tells Vanessa that he saw another side of Blair. Again, prime example that he doesn’t LOATHE her.
2.) I’m tired of people saying that Dan would criticize/change Blair. He wouldn’t. Because Blair would probably beat his ass. I’ve noticed that Blair doesn’t really care what she says/does around Dan like she does with Chuck and Nate. Probably because, as I’ve said, they aren’t friends. I find that very…bearable. The number one thing I hate is when Blair changes herself for someone else. And I don’t think she would let Dan change her.
And Dan wouldn’t judge Blair to begin with because he’s coming into MONEY. He has no right to judge her, he will probably be richer than she is after Rufus/Lily get married.
3.) Dan + Blair + sex= hot and hilarious.
If they have sex, I wouldn’t mind it, not at all. Penn is attractive. Leighton is attractive. And Dan get’s more shirtless scenes than other men. *cough* All I have to say about that.
But seriously, can you see the hilarity after they had had sex, and they just randomly bump into each other while walking to class or something? Dan would probably start babbling on like he normally does and Blair would probably get that OhmyfreakingGod expression on her face……it would be hilarious.
4.) Serena would not be pissed.
Serena has no reason to be pissed. They are about to be siblings. If she got pissed Blair could probably throw Serena/Nate in her face (hopefully SereNate will happen by then!!!!!****) And then Serena would have no room to talk. The End.
And I think that’s all I have to say…….Argue with me all you want, this is my OPINON.

Blair: Just because we can't be together doesn't mean I don't love you.
