Dair fans, why do you prefer them over Chair?

Well maybe not love K......They definently don't love each other. More like....mutual respect.

one thing i realize on this website is that no one will ever be happy with what happens someday if dan and blair hookup everyone will want chuck and blair.and now with chuck and blair everyone wants dan and blair.Personal the fact of dan and blair makes me want to barf or go jump of a brigde it might be worst than chuck and vanessa. And chuck does not make her sad,did you see the look on her face when her said her loved her.Dan is very judgemental and he would make her crack she could never be herself. At the most i hope he learns to be less harsh and they can be friends

See this is where I think you are wrong because Blair would allow him to change her. It is actually what she does best. She tries to fit into this persona of perfection and put on a front because she believes that others would criticize her for who she really is. The only time she ever really allows her inner flawed self to show is when she is with Chuck or Serena who have learned to accept her and love her.
so much word, blair is always looking for aprovement
See, that is where we disagree. I do not see a mutual respect. Blair does not respect him, he does not respect her IMO. This is what is fun to watch. They are entertaining because they don't like each other. It's funny.

hm..blair and dan..
well, i dont want them to have a long term serious relationship like chuck and blair..
but like many of you mentioned, i wouldnt mind a one night stand or a week of dating..
that would be very funny..
but, if i had to choose chair or dair, its defintely chair..
chuck totally understands blair..

I absolutely 100% do not want the coupling of "Dair" to ever be conceived.
What the hell is wrong with everyone? For almost two years now people have been whinging and complaining that Chuck and Blair haven't gotten together (I was among them) and now that they have, EVERYONE IS STILL NOT HAPPY! WHAT THE &#$@?! Make up your bloody minds and stop whining like fucken children. I can see this exact thing happening with "Dair". Before too long, everyone will be a Dair shipper and then as soon as the writers act on that, they will start nit picking at every single bad thing they perceive.

^I'm a Chair fan and Chair fans who would like to see Dair as a couple aren't complaining about Chair's relationship, and it's not that were not happy, it's just accepting that Dair will probably happen, and not seeing that as an awful thing. Seeing it more as a new interesting paring that could be great given the chance.
Chair wont be together from now until season 5 or 6 or whenever the show ends (although they will be end game and I want them to be.) and the writers have said in the past that they want to try everyone with everyone. So it's going to happen.

damn... a dair vs chair thread and i wasn't invited!
this is why i don't ship chair. i am a female. i'm not perfect nor do i pretend to be. but i like to think i have a good sense of self. i will not jeopardize that for any man regardless of how much i love him. cupid himself in his diaper/wings glory could shoot me in the ass with an arrow and do all but give me a compass GUIDING me to my one true love and not for a single moment would i lose nearly all of my ground for this man. will not happen. i won't let him treat me less than what i feel i deserve. excuse my french but fuck that lol. seriously. and if i feel that i need to jeopardize any of that for that guy then clearly i don't need to be with him. in knowing that, i can't ship a couple who's (as messed up as they were) start off so strong. to limo sex. plotting together. then to having him break away and have it somehow be a 'joint' decision. cause like i said, in 2x1 i thought it was kind of brilliant to have blair to admit that she was still into chuck when she felt she shouldn't have been. for the first time it showed just how much she was into him and it was clear from that episode just how much he was into her. but what pissed me off about chair in the beginning was the preet a poor j episode, where chuck got to be the one to basically lay down the law with THEIR relationship. informing her in his own words that he wasn't ready for a relationship as the writers tried to dazzle it up and make it seem like SHE wasn't either. that's a sack of shit. out of the NJBC, she's (along with nate questionably) the one who had the most experience. how do you go from being as romantic as she was in the first season to 'suddenly not being ready'. in my mind, yeah that's changing a part of her to suit HIM and that's not fair.
from that point, i'd like blair to have made some sort of effort to move on. a real effort at least but it seems she never did. instead she kind of put herself on his level, then almost got crucified for it. GG was right in calling her a weakling because when it came to chuck that's exactly what she was. maybe i could have bought the entire thing a bit better if this was how she came across in the first season, but she didn't. it seems that the old blair waldorf would sooner cut her hair completely off and shop at walmart before sinking to the new lows she did in season 2. and over a guy? omg please.
but as so many sarcastically like to note, yeah i do think apart of her inner downfall is to do with chuck. and it sucks because in my mind it's not love. or at the very least, not a good representation of what it is to be. and i get that they are young and might not have it all together yet. but also, if they started off that badly then it might not be that good.
why i ship dair:because i think it has the potential to be greater than the story that the writers were TRYING to do with dan and serena. more than just the rich girl who leads the glamorous life and more than just the brooding guy from the wrong side of the tracks. unlike chuck and blair, i believe dan and blair are polar opposites. yet in a strange way, they are the most paralled unlike any other. they both have a lot in common, from their scholastic work ethics down to ultimately what they think about the 'other side'.
i think it'd be hot to see. cause i think penn is effing gorgeous and i think leighton is as well. and come on admit it, a love scene would be pretty damn hot.
i don't believe for a second that dan would do all of this 'changing' blair. at least not anymore than chuck already has. and that's just because dan and blair are so much alike. how can you really change that much similarity?
one thing i used to like about chuck and blair, were the fact that 'she brought out the best in him while he brought out the worst in her' that aspect is gone now. it's got nothing to do with love or their 'passion' or what people percieve to be lack thereof. it's got to do with the direction the writers chose to put chuck in. he doesn't carry the same bite that he used to. kind of like in buffy where spike got the chip put in his head and couldn't feed on humans anymore. well chuck has that chip now, only at least it didn't make spike lamer. only chuck. go figure. anywho, i think the same kind of chemistry could be taken to blair and dan now. call me crazy i know but it could work.
anyway enough of that. it's sooo late here and i'm randomly online. kinda sleepy so i apologize if this don't make much sense. just point out what you disagree with like i know you would and i'll deal with it tomorrow. LOL
and oh btw
And btw, Chair never really had a love/hate relationship. It was more of a friends to love relationship!\.....
ummmmmmmm. did you not see season 1? i don't think blair's 'attitude' towards chuck in the beginning was hate but it damn sure wasn't anything CLOSE to love. and on his end as well. they might have been friends but they weren't as close as say he and nate. or her and serena for that matter. i wouldn't read into the fact that she tolerated him a bit more than serena had as 'zomgs they had been best friends forever'.. i kinda get the impression that season 1 chuck was a bit of a loner. aside from nate and his random hookers of course. i kinda figure that was the point of him crushing on blair in the first place. to display just how new to anything remotely close to a relationship he was, as well as the loneliness he sometimes felt. so i'd call it more of a watered down love/hate relationship than a rosy fairytale of two bffs falling into the back of a limo and falling in love. because friends who fall in love don't compare their 'loves' to arabian horses.

Blair: Just because we can't be together doesn't mean I don't love you.
