I am a Chair fan and below are the reasons I suppose why I have a problem with Dan and Blair romantically - as friends they are great and v funny
What I love about Dan is his honesty and his absolute refusal to scheme and manipulate and his ability to speak his mind ( espeicially in Seasons 1-3) . At the wedding he sent the video to stop Blair getting married - ok he loves her , I can let that slide . However to let her believe Chuck sent it is OOC for Dan , he is the morality of this show and always does the right thing. Looking at this weeks episode , he lied to Blair to get her to the party, he knew Blair was trying to get Serena there and in turn Serena got hurt ( more about that later) . Then when Serena interrupts them , he chases after Georgina and doesn't even see if Serena is ok or apologises - this is the main problem I have with Dan. Last season the Dair relationship worked because they connected on an intellectual level and hd some great comedic banter. That's Dan, I kind of don't recognise the character he has become. And next week's promo where he tells Chuck " I must be winning" , also seems out of character, he knows how Chuck feels about Blair and almost rubs it in, again very out of character for Dan. Then we have these rumours of a script leak and Dan not telling Blair something good that Chuck did. I am all for Dan and Blair as a couple if they were not being so OOC - the actions above are not Dan, I can understand he loves Blair, but to hurt Serena and Chuck along the way - are they both happy to do that?
As for Blair - the more OOC she gets in each episode the more worrying she gets. She's married, lost a baby, tried to run away with Chuck and has kissed Dan in about 6 episodes. Seriously ? Blair is becoming a total flake , she needs to become her actual true character again and then maybe she will be good enough for Dan or Chuck , because right now - this Blair- is not the character that we all know and love - even the writers have said she is behaving totally out of character .

I did watch the promo - however my point was that Chuck has been on and off with Blair for Five years . He says " Are you going to compete with me Humphrey" - I think it is clear that Chuck will be competing no matter what but want's to know where Dan is at. So Dan's response with " I must be winning" , in my opinion was out of character as he knows how deep Chucks feelings are. My point was that Dan is behaving a bit OOC at the minute, in my opinion, I never thought I would see the day he would be lurking in the shadows watching Blair. That's not him in my opinion. But to be fair these writers have obliterated most characters on the show so its hardly suprising, what will they do over the next season and a half , we just need a whodunnit plot and we should have everything covered off

Also to add to my point - Chuck was antagonizing Dan ? Hardly suprising seeing as he has loved Blair for five years and has formed a friendship with Dan over this last season. Of course he's antagonised as is Serena - you can see why

There's a lightness about Dair that tugs at my heart strings. Chair is just drama.
