Sorry, I didn't mean to come out disrespectfully :/ this is the problem with the internet.
I think we need to have in mind that Dan isn't the same as he was before. He -as all the other characters- has changed, some may even say it's a drastic change. He's behavior afterwards was normal IMO for an 18 year old guy who just had a threesome. He is basking in his "manhood".
He is not "just friends" with Vanessa, he is best friends with her and has known her for most of his life, he's the girl he was in love with before Serena. And I disagree with you about people judging the persons they've known for years. We've seen Blair, Serena, Nate and Chuck judging each other plenty of times. Blair has judged Serena an uncountable number of times despite being almost like sisters, Nate has done the same with Chuck. That people tend to judge the unknown and what they don't understand ? debatable in some cases but pretty much spot-on in most.

Thanks for the apology. I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. I just think that DV is so badly written. There were so many ways that this story could have been written, but instead they went the skeevy route with them and I really wonder why. I don't think dan was in love with Vanessa before Serena. I think he had an unrequited crush on her. I do think he has and had feelings for her though. I guess I'm picky about the word love. Its like saying serena was in love with nate cause they were friends and had sex on a bar. What the future holds, we'll see. But, I don't think Dan was in love with Vanessa before.

I agree. If he was in love with her, he would doubt his feelings for Serena when Vanessa went after him, but this didn't happen. He was always sure about his feelings for Serena, even with Vanessa trying to seduce him.

agreed. dan was supposed to have always loved serena from afar. in my opinion, at the time anyways, that was real. what he felt for vanessa was more of a crush on a friend. i don't think it could compare to what he felt for serena, since it seemed to have evaporated. dan didn't even consider picking vanessa in 1x06.

True. and now Dan won't even consider Serena because she's basically family. He's not allowed be with her so Vanessa is the next best thing he has to a friend who's a girl. Those feelings are still there, at least I think they are. They are just being shoved away since she's forbidden fruit.

exactly. i don't believe that dan and serena's feelings for each other just disappeared. i think it makes sense for danessa to be re-explored, since dan was supposed to have had feelings for vanessa prepilot, and vanessa had feelings for dan from 1x06 - 1x07. they need to explore that and realize those feelings are not there anymore. i definitely would not be upset if dan left vanessa to run after serena, but i hope thats not how it happens. i love the DV friendship, so i want them to realize they're meant to be friends. i don't want them to have a dramatic breakup that ruins their friendship. and i want dan to realize from it that he can't feel the same way about anyone else that he felt about serena. thats what i'd love for serena to realize from being with nate too.
but i really just want derena to get back together, so i'll be insanely happy however that happens. i don't actually care what friendships dan ruins in the process. if he leaves vanessa alone to run after serena, i'll be ecstatic

I don't necessarily mean that Vanessa will be mad at him for leaving her alone to go after Serena but I wouldn't really mind if she was angry lol. I would want it to be subtle, Vanessa's not sure where he's going and he just says something like "excuse me for one sec" and runs off leaving Vanessa confused. That way it doesn't mean DV are going to break up viciously, just so you and I know that DS is starting back up or at the very least Dan still really cares about Serena's well being.

true. i think that would be a really good scene, you know, him with vanessa and then running away to go after serena. subtly, like you said. i don't think him running off to find serena should be the DV break up. i really don't want to see a DSV triangle. but, just in there as a hint that dan doesn't love vanessa as much as he loved serena, and that he still cares about serena. and then once danessa break up for their own reasons, we'll know who dan really belongs with

That's what I'm thinking. There are so many scenes I would love to happen with these two.
I was thinking about it the other day and I don't think the writing could be so terribly crappy that i wouldn't be happy with DS. I think once they get back together we'd remember what they used to be like and it would be awesome. Although I don't want to be rushed so that we're wondering when the hell they got back together in the first place. Subtle hints need to come up starting tomorrow. Which i kind of think they are since we're being reminded that Dan used to be in love with Serena thanks to Jenny.
"Dan and Serena, Dan and Serena woo woo" I love how much Jenny loves DS, her and CeCe should team up and lock them in a closet together or something :P
