Ann, I never take what you write the wrong way; in fact, I may be the one who didn’t state it properly. My point is that Chair fans feel that Chuck owns Blair, for whatever reason, but they will never say it that way. Thus, they unconsciously make-up bogus principles to rationalize their position. My higher level argument is that we have visceral reactions that we that we try to justify by manufacturing intellectual rules.
Oh no doubt about that I completely agree. In fact both fan groups are probably guity of that.
Thing is though there is a bat shit crazy (sorry but there really is no other way of describing it) part of the Chair fandom that twist even the the basic facts on the show in a way to hate on a character just because they don't want to see a certain pairing.
Case in point, the truly hilarious theory IMO, that Dan is to blame for the miscarriage because he brought Chuck and blair together at the Empire. Never mind that they accidentally took the wrong limo and someon CUT THE BREAKS and Chuck lives at the Empire so chances were that a Chair conversation would take place there at any rate even without Dan's intervention.
I regurlarly see people in the Dair thread comment on how they would like to see Chuck come into his own, or how he means well, etc. You never see that from this particular brand of Chuckistans where Dan is concerned.

To those who are freaking out, breath a little lol
Its cool. It was basically revealed to be a dream when we found out it was 5x19, and not 5x24. If its Blairs dream, then we're good to go. I prefer a dream sequence in 5x19 actually, no way Blair's going to be at "I love you" when she only just starting realizing that Dan might be feeling something more than friend-like things.
Guys, Vday episode tonight :D I hope they do another movie over the phone. I hope Dan kisses the hell outa her, and then she takes to her bed for another week b/c she is all of a sudden 'consumed' by feelings for Dan :D (lol see what I did there??)

Now now judging by the coughing the only one with consumption is Louis ;-)
Goodnight all. see you guys tomorrow. Sadly I have to go to work at six, so I won't see the episode until 5:30 GMT+1.
That means I 'll probably have to work my way through a couple of pages of posts before i am up to speed with you guys.

Even if it's a dream, the scene will still be beautiful. They still kiss, hold hands, smile and laugh. Doesn't mean Dair wont happen. Soon or later, in the end they'll be together !Posted 2/13/2012 5:59:57 PM #

Ok so I'm okay with the dream as long as it's Blair's. We also better see a reaction. Either he smiling while dreaming ot smiling when she wakes. It would also be great if she had the urge to call Dan, but stops herself. I just want to see more from Blair's side!!

Gah, I don't know what to think. I get the peeps who think it's good it's a dream so Dair can get together for real on the season finale. If 5x19 isn't a dream it's a possiblity they can be done and over with before the season ends. And if it's Blair's dream, well that's certainly a good sign because by season 6 it'll be all Dair. But I just want them to happen already. I guess after Dan confesses his feelings, Blair will need to digest it, take it all in, figure it out in her own way. It wouldn't make sense for her to just jump into something with Dan, especially with all the neverending Chuck/Louis drama. But Dan has been moping around for a year now and gosh darn it, will we ever get to see this guy happy?

This is a good thing guys. If the scene really happened in 5x19 there's a chance they'd break them apart before 5x24 for their precious chair.
I'm now convinced that dair will end the season together, no matter who's dream it is. It will be a beautiful scene anyway.
I think it'd be really interesting if it was Blair's dream. I've always felt like Blair idealizes her love with Chuck, whereby the epic love she believes they have is a lot better in her mind than it is in reality. I think that's why she often dreams of Chuck in terms of films. The fantasy world of Audrey films is better than reality.
If it is Blair's dream however, then to her, she sees the reality of Dan as wonderful and perfect.
