I thought he was totally selfless in that situation.
I wouldn't say totally selfless, he did use Jenny and related Blair's problem to his own Chuck Bass-ness.
I agree. I don't want him to be completley selfless, because then he wouldn't be Chuck.

because she was the only female on the show with class and substance. she might have had her insecurities but they weren't as bad as they are now that she's with chuck. they totally stripped her of damn near everything that made her likeable and tolerable (because admit in real life you would NOT want to seriously befriend a chick like the one she is now) because of chuck. there's no way in hell could anyone convince me that season 2 wasn't all about chuck. nor the fact that pretty much every character went by the wayside in order to bring chuck to whatever point he is now. i don't see how one character could change so radically from boyfriend to boyfriend. i don't see how blair could go from uber bitch in season one to uber charmin (the soft toilet paper). why should she have to give up so much of her personality and endure so much humiliation for one relationship? who could relate to that? who would? what sane girl (or person for that matter) would surrender themselves to that kind of emotional turmoil? and it's for 'love'? ummm yeah well if that's what being in 'love' entails then you can count me out.
i'm just sayin that it could have been written WAYYYY better. cause i mean, i'd rather see blair with some dignity and self respect than with chuck bass. notice how HE didn't lose anything. except maybe his father. SHE lost a lot. in my opinion.

Waldass Kicks Ass
yea I was shocked about that !!! now blair haters are more than vanessa's LOOOL ..but I don't understand it .. in just two or three episodes blair has completely lost a lot .. while other characters are gaining fans !!!!!!

WHAT? how is this chuck's fault? im sure they would do the blair having difficult to adapt in NYU and needs to go back to constance even if she wasnt with chuck.

i didn't mean any of that i meant just aspects of her personality now. what she went through and just overall in general what happened. i don't think her having to adapt has anything to do with chuck.

"but they weren't as bad as they are now that she's with chuck."
"(because admit in real life you would NOT want to seriously befriend a chick like the one she is now) because of chuck."
w-t-t-b
Everything is Chucks fault? What? That Blair is insecure? Aren't you forgetting something? Blair was like this last season, during the Yale storyline and when she was dating Nate.
As far as I remember she actually stopped being like this when she was around Chuck, and that's one of the reasons people ship them in the first place.
I'm not denying that Chuck has hurt her a lot, but to say that he is the main reason that she is insecure is just weird. This is actually the first time I've ever heard anyone say that.

But I guess you're one of those who think like this:
"It's like when Blair does something wrong or OOC everyone says: "It's not her fault! The writers are ruining her character!". But when Chuck does something wrong people start bashing him and say he isn't good enough for her. How is that fair?"

because she was the only female on the show with class and substance. she might have had her insecurities but they weren't as bad as they are now that she's with chuck.
that's what i said. i said she had them but they weren't nearly as bad as they are now. and i think that you're insinuating that he's helped her out in that? um how? she's just as bad as she's ever been and she continually proves that each week. i know she's had her hang ups but around season 1 she handled them with a little self respect. season two saw her at her lowest all because she wanted the love of a manchild who couldn't love anything or anyone but himself. and she did outrageous stuff and let a lot of stuff slide that no normal woman let alone one like blair waldorf should let allow.
and when i shipped chair i never liked them because i thought either one of them were good for the other. because that was the whole point of them in the first place. they aren't good FOR each other or TO each other for that matter. the passion was there, and they were hot. but as far as real maturity goes i guess they have a lot left to learn. well maybe blair, somehow her personal progression must have gotten lost somewhere back in season 2 where ever she left her dignity.

Blair: Just because we can't be together doesn't mean I don't love you.
