Does this site make you feel ashamed to still love GG?

Without any disrespect toanybody on this forum or to the site as a whole, I feel that lately the negativity towards this show and the writers on this forum has gotten a out of hand. This site is suppose to be for Gossip Girl fans who love the show to come and discuss their thoughts but lately it seems like people who actually still love the show and season three and the characters are the minority in a larger group of haters- Im not saying that people actually are haters of the show just that it some times feels like that.

I understand that for a vocal group on this site that GG has been dissapointing this season and that they have valid reasons to feel that way. I also get that their anger of the faults in the show stems from their great love for GG and not wanting to see it ruined by poor writing. But the bashing on the show and the writers and the actors and the fans is starting to get really tired and redundant to the poit that when I come on here I actually feel a little depressed.

Yes people should be free to discuss the faults with the show and how it can be improve but I think this can be done without the blantant negativity and bashing. Especially when it comes to personal attacks and arguments between posters. Its almost like you are made to feel stupid and not a real fan of the show if you god forbid have something positive to say about gossip girl.

There are definite areas of improvement needed to the show and the writing Im not denying that. But every new spoiler or tibit or episode is met with quite alot of negative reponses not mention alot of why GG sucks style threads picking out every little thing wrong with the show yet there isnt alot of postive comments on the show. Other GG sites manage to discuss the pros and cons of the show without out all the negativity.

At the end of the day GG is suppose to be fun and entertaining not something which makes you angry and pissed off. Maybe Im reading things the wrong way I dont know Im just tired of the negativity. Does Anyone else feel the Sameway?

agree with everything you said. i understand why there are people upset with the show right now, believe me, i wish some things were different too, but come on, this is supposed to be a fan site about the show, it is a litle sad to come here and just see people complaining.people complain about the sneak peeks before even watching the episode, every thread there is at least one complain about the show. i know some people miss season 1 but it is never going back to be the way it was. a lot of things happened. if the show went back to season 1 we had to ignore a lot of things that happened with the caracters.

Stella, there is fanforum. the gg's spoiler thread over there has been really good lately. they discuss the show in a very good way. of course there is some negativity, which i think it's pretty normal but it isnt only about how the show sucks lately.

that's the biggest problem in this site, IMO. of course we wont like everything about the show but when all we see is negativity it makes me wonder why people is still watching.

I agree too with everything that is said. I can see where people are coming from with their negative comments because their are areas that do need improving. Generally speaking I actually like season 3; of course it won't be the same as season 1 but it is expected because the characters have grown. I just don't like the focus on the negative aspects and to use someone elses words, it depresses me. I know that because of this I have started to spend more time at other forums and less time here. Which is sad for me because this was the first fan forum that I ever joined and I know the people here, but I don't like feeling down when I come here to share my love of my favourite show. I do realise that it is important for everyone to share their thoughts (I don't want to start any fights)

I think some people just come here to fight. I was seeing a topic other day and the girl called the other one Bitch! Just because she doesn't agree with the other one. And now, It's only "I HATE X" "I HATE THIS EPISODE X". I'm new here, but I think people should learn to respect other's opinion. Don't take me wrong, I think this is season is not good, but I would like to see another topics, for a change...I'm sending e-mails to CW talking about the series everyday.

i agree to some degree.

i guess i am one of the 'complainers' who complain about the show. but i have a right to talk about what i dislike about it. it just so happens that i am not the only one who dislikes it too so in much the same way people who like the way the show is or enjoy a certain ship takes solace in people who feel like they do.

but honestly complaining about the complainers because of the recent influx of angry fans who intelligently exercise their dislike towards the show or a ship is no different than being in a specific thread talking about a specific ship and having (for example) chair crashers coming in to seek dominance because it just so happens that their ship is what's being shown. and it's certainly no different than being told you're a prude or having your intelligence questioned because you prefer one character with another but not the one you just happen to prefer.

i think a little bit of it are a bunch of people tired of 'biasness' and a whole bunch more just tired of what's being written for the show and really want it to be better. but still, if you're gonna call out a certain group, include everything.
