Holy Crap...

in the end, the CW has the last laugh because this is just gonna make more people watch the show. the best way to get teenagers to do something: tell them to NOT do it. plus, teenagers are horny and sex-crazed which is why they're probably doing this episode during sweeps month.

* the PTC isn't saying that having a threesome is bad, but that because the show is targeted towards people under the age of 18 they think it is inappropriate for that age group

^^^
Even if it is targeted at teenagers, it's stupid to assume that it's going to make teenagers who aren't having sex START having sex because of a tv show.
Trust me, if your teenage son/daughter is not sexually active, gossip girl is not going to convince them to start having threesomes. That is something that comes up at parties and behind the bleachers at Prom, not during the commercial break of a CW show that barely pulls in 2 million viewers a week.
Besides, what's wrong with the youth of America getting laid?? I have to update my list of requirements here (thanks for pointing that out ggxoxo4life) but as long as everyone is consenting and using protection then who really gives a shit?!?!
I feel like the parent's council is trying to say that is sex isn't normal.... and that's kind of scaring me a little bit.

HEY! I'm not horny and sex-crazed...much. Lol, yeah i know what you mean though. If my Mom said I couldn't watch Gossip Girl I'd go over to my friends house and watch it anyways..maybe because there's a thrill out of disobeying people... :/

Exactly! I mean Season 1 episode 7? Blair losing her virginity to Chuck Bass in the back of a limo did not make me want to go running to a guy in my class asking him if he wanted to rent a limo so we could do it in the back of it. People should really stop over reacting 'cause it's just a show! A really good show but seriously? People are messed up sometimes...

1) Teenagers do not turn on the TV, watch something, and then go do it. I'm seventeen and just because i see a threesome on GG I am not going to be consumed by raging hormones and go jump the nearest couple I can find.
They report burning buildings and robberies on the news, do you see teenagers jumping out their bedroom windows and running off to become arsenists and criminals? I think not
2) If you think about it, why are threesomes 'wrong'?

I find this whole thing fuckery. I'm fourteen and just because I watch Gossip Girl doesn't mean I'm going to go try to have sex right away. That's just fucking stupid. Some adults just don't get anything, or their minds are deluded by the fact that their child may be influenced because a fictional TV show has sex in it.

For the record, Gossip girl DOES make me want to have a threesome with Ed Westwick and Penn Badgley. But is that such a crime??
Seriously guys, if you're reading this...

I think the parents council is over reacting they are blaming the media when they should be blaming their failure to properly educate their children about safe sex. I am 28 and I grew up watching 90210 and Melrose place (the originals) and I was allowed to watch daytime soap operas like Days of our Lives at like 8 or 9 (these were a million times worse than Gossip Girl) and I am not screwed up. Parents need to talk to their kids and stop blaming TV for everything that is wrong.

Not a crime at all.

Blair: Just because we can't be together doesn't mean I don't love you.
