Hypocrisy?

In the interest of full disclosure - I am a diehard Chair fan.  That being said, I am going to watch the story unfold in regards to Blair, Chuck, and Eva.  Last season after Dorota's wedding, Blair told Chuck that she wanted "real love - pure and simple love" and he told her that "she would be bored in 5 minutes".  Well, why does he get to have this now?  I'm not hating on Eva, but Blair is so heartbroken over Chuck and he gets to have the simple love?  He looks so happy (even if underneath he isn't?) and Blair looks SO sad.  Its not fair.  Its hypocrisy.  I know this is part of his redemption, his growth, but it still bothers me.

I personally hate Chuck's "you'd get bored" excuse. Like honestly, can't you think of a better reason to tell her to convince her the two of you should be together. You supposedly love her and all you can say is if you're not with me you'll be bored? That's REAL convincing. It's gotten old and no longer valid considering even being bored in a relationship that you're happy is better than dating Chuck Bass.

Absa-feckin'-lutely!  All of Chuck's little pep talks to Blair at the end of last season were aimed at reinforcing the ridiculous idea that the two of them share a special, mystical vampire love.  "You'll never be safe" was the worst of them imo, as if Blair will die without Chuck's narcisistic douchebaggery to sustain her.

Now Chuckles wants the simple life.  Maybe he'll read for blind children and rescue labrador puppies from animal testing labs.  As long as he rehabilitates himself without actually making good to Blair, because that would upset the balance of their relationship, where he's the man!

Chuck Norris approves of this message.

It's hypocritical, for sure. But hypocrisy is pretty much Chuck's MO.

Chuck and he gets to have the simple love?

He didn't get it that easily. He was shot in his guts after all and almost bleeded to death in a dirty street.

oh Al. if this isn't true, i don't know what is. Everything Chuck said to Blair after they broke up was pure fuckery. "we're magnetic"  "our pull is as undeniable as ever" "together we'll always win" "it was all for nothing" really Chuck? "i didn't care if i lived or died". the only thing he said that i am not repulsed by and i actually believed was when he said

"I'm so sorry for the pain i've cause you. and i know i can take it back but i wanna try and make it up to you, even if it takes me the rest of my life"

but his intent was to propose, which was ridiculous.

Why don't we shoot Blair in the leg and put her out of her misery too, then? What's a little physical trauma compared to constant mental agony?

FIRST OF ALL : HE WENT UP THERE ON HIS OWN OKAY. IT'S HIS OWN FUCKING FAULT THAT HE GOT SHOT AND HAD TO LIE IN A DIRTY STREET.

It's not like god sent him a message : Go see some prostitues in Prague and your fate shall meet you.

    Also, Soo, I agree.

Let's just put them all in one penthouse and set it on fire.

Then this misery will finally be over.
