Now I have to bring up again how much i'm pissed that Serena and Nate got into ivy league schools, whereas Dan and Blair, the only ones who ever gave a shit about really getting into one, and actually worked their asses off in school for their future, didn't, what ticks me off even more is how now Serena is ditching the oppurtunity to go to her dream ivy league school....
Yes, and thank you and I'm just quoting you to say how much I agree. BUT I AGREE. SO MUCH. I'm throwing Vanessa's 'I'm homeschooled and have no money and have never shown academic interest but end up at the exact same school with Dan and Blair' storyline in there too. (Remember: She took the SATs!) Georgina with her spotty record getting in (boot camp, drug addiction etc.) to the same school the academic duo end up too is kind of insult to injury although I dont' have any problem with G or her being involved in the storylines (until I see it that is, then I'm sure I'll have PLENTY of problems). But at least in that case, G could be awesome fun.

SERENA DIDNT EVEN TAKE HER SAT'S WHEN SHE WAS SPOSED TO DID SHE? I REMEMBER SHE WAS NOT THERE AND CHUCK TRIED TO HAVE SOMEBODY TAK IT FOR HER.

YES. THIS! how insulting, Dan and Blair have the drive to succeed, and they deserve to both be at a school that would give them all the oppurtunities in the world to succeed, like Yale(And I'll never get over the fact that we could've had Dan and Blair at Yale together, with noone else).

I was actually speaking with a friend of mine about this though she doesn't read into Gossip Girl as much as I do..she just likes the show and watches it out of boredom.
But yes, that said, it shows how much the writers lack (not saying anything against them; they are a fantastic team of writers but I still think that this was written poorly). In a real situation; iot wouldn't matter that she was "Serena van der Woodsen", teenage socialite b;ah blah...if she got arrested, it would be safe to say she would have her acceptance revoked IMMEDIATELY! As for hazing of a teacher? When the fuck did that go on your college transcipt letters? And why the fuck would they even care if the reports showed impecable grades? And Dan; wouldn't Rufus have basically strangled Dan for picking NYU over Yale when he had the opportunity to go to Yale in the end? I mean, Rufus and Lily are practically married now...they can afford the tuition! AGRGH!
But I understand why it was done...they all needed to be in New York for the series to continue...

^ i still say that they could have easily pulled at OTH and just jumped four years. it really wouldn't have been so bad and they'd be pretty much 'acting' most of their real life ages anyway with the exception of little j and eric.

Yeah I actually considered that as well. But then they'd have to had made dramatic changes - like Blair and Chuck would have probably had an epic romance and then some dramatic break up and therefore not on speaking terms; Serena would probably have a drug problem and already have 3 ex husbands or something...I don't know...it would very different to say the least.
