how jess gets treated? i'd say she gets treated about the same as chace 'cause both pretty much have boring (semi) useless characters with actors who bring very little to add ANYTHING to them.
..somewhere in that ballpark.
i was by no means a blair fan from the beginning, or chuck for that matter but anyone can see that it's ed and leighton that makes the characters somewhat likeable. i hate on vanessa as hard as anyone, and i know the difference between jess/vanessa. unlike the writers, i also know the difference between real life and tv drama. surely you understand how the lines become a bit blurred between everyone.

I always think Jessica is as beautiful as Leighton or Blake, she's character just doesn't belong to her. I would love to see Jess as a character who is sexy, naughty and tricky. Not like a boring and boho Vanessa... :\

Jessica is a pretty damn solid actress IMO, nothing too special, but she get's the job done in a more than satisfactory way, the problem with Vanessa is that most viewer's just plain and simply don't like her SL's, at least she gets the average viewer emotionally invested in their character, even if that emotion is hate, most of the time.

ITA with both of you guys, I can't wait to see the movie, Walks, when it comes out and then people would stop saying her acting skills are awful. Jessica is a pretty good actress. If you can cry on the beat...then you can freaking act IMO.

um how about not. georgina sparks, poppy lifton, hell BLAIR during season one.. those were characters meant to be hated because they antagonize the wonderful serena van der woodsen and anyone who dares hurt that deserves to perish ( <-- sarcasm)
vanessa abrams wasn't designed to do any of that. from the moment she (rather creepy i might ad) appeared perched up in dan's window, we were supposed to feel sympathetic towards her character because anyone with half a brain could tell that she was into dan while dan was still fullblown in his serena phase. and if you don't feel a little bit sorry for a girl who's in love with someone who doesn't love her back ... well maybe you need to get checked out.
but that was the way vanessa was supposed to be ( i figure ) and also a girl who FINALLY doesn't care about social status, money or the drama that comes with it. however, that side of vanessa was shot to shit the moment she started dating nate (wanting to fit in somewhat as indicated by the grandfather episode) and was forever killed the second she decided to sleep with chuck bass 'twice'. because now she's a hypocrite. and no one likes hypocrites.
