Lily's such a bitch.

Like we didn't know this already.
I don't know why I'm even surprised by this but I cannot get over the fact that she forgot the anniversary of Bart's death!!! Are you kidding me?! Chuck's over there suffering and she's just off in la la land trying to stop her current husband from finding out she effed her ex-husband and then totally forgets her late husband's deathday. Nice.

Um, she said this 'He wouldn't have been in that car if you hadn't called him.' to a grieving 17 yr old child on the day his dad (and only immediate family member) was buried. Then followed that with a rant about how he was just like that dead man (and made them out to be controlling bastards, and even if they are TIMING, LIly). And then she slaps him for saying pretty much the same thing to her, but only downscaled. She was cheating on this kid's now dead father and she expects him to be all loving towards her? Bitch does not even begin to explain things.

Hmmm...I wouldn't say that Lily is a bitch. She's just extremely self-centered.

I guess. She's not always so bad, a bitch wouldn't have adopted Chuck just to help him out of Jack's clutches.

^^ I guess. But still, I wish she'd be a little more concerned about her "son"

Well, she's not that concerned about her own children so do you really expect her to be more concerned about her step-son?

Excellent point. How much attention does she really spend on Eric? She ran off with Rufus, and Serena left too and no one mentioned what the Hell Eric would be doing for the summer.
If Serena wasn't such a train wreck then I doubt seriously if Lily would say two words to her. I mean, he's a secondary character but there's several episodes in concession where Lily never even talks to Eric, even when he's on the episode. Hell, even if he's in the same room as her.

Considering that Bart was her 5th husband and she was in the process of starting to officially cheat on him the night he died I think it's safe to say there are people that were sadder he died and people more likely to give a shit about the anniversary of his death. I agree that "self-centered" is a great way of describing her, but I think that occasionally it does cross the line into bitch territory, like with Eric. Even back when she did talk to him (post him having to slit his wrists) she hid him and lied about where he was to people and definitely could have taken Georgina outing him a touch better. I feel like Lily, Rufus, and Allison all have the kinds of flaws that are excusable for people without children, and fine for people in their twenties, but begin to become things that are hard to be cool with in their forties with nearly a half dozen kids between them. They all come across as people in arrested development that can't manage to act like real adults, much less parents.

that can't manage to act like real adults, much less parents. Are they so different though from any of the other parents on the show? I am not defending Lily's actions--I certainly think she's a bitch--, but what Bart, Eleanor, Harold, Anne Archibald, the Captain, and Vanessa's parents? Bart never paid any attention to Chuck and blamed him for just about everything. Blair's parents have virtually abandoned her to live their own "lives." Anne and the Captain were more worried about their family's reputation than the well being of their son. And Vanessa's beatnik parents are holed up in Vermont somewhere.
The point is they're all dysfunctional and have terrible parenting skills.

Blair: You say I always bet against you. Not this time. I'm all in.
