Reply to Postpointless characters/good characters

are there characters that you think are pointless or you don't enjoy to watch (not including guest stars)?ooh and are there characters that aren't shown as much but you enjoy watching them?
For me i have 2:Nate-bacause he has 1 facial expression and is just boring.
Vanessa-because she shows up randomly and just messes everything up.
And the two I enjoy to watch are Eric and dorota. Eric because he's actually the only sane person on the show and Dorota because she's funny.

i'll go with season two because its where i feel the ball has been dropped as far as the characters go. and also, well season one was pretty golden.
good - chuck; well i really don't need to spell out anything that hasn't been spelled out before. it seems like season two has been all about chuck. nearly everything that he did and every epi he popped up in had pretty much been leading him into the finale. where he was finally able to say those three little words to blair. because of how involved chuck has been in season two, i feel like it's pretty much been his vehicle. it was a good investment but at what cost? now the other characters seem to suck because they pale in comparison to chuck
pointless - everyone else!
blair, well on the totem pole of pointless, i'd say that blair was probably the highest. because where would king bass be without his queen? his motivation for practically doing everything he does? there were moments where her character lagged. where she did things that didn't make much sense. jack bass? but, overall she wasn't totally pointless.
serena, just ugh. i don't know where to start and once i do it's impossible to finish so i just won't. but everything she did was utterly pointless and the dan/serena merry go round was pretty pointless too.
dan, i like him better when he's without serena and away from vanessa. i would have included him with chuck but he made a mistake the second season which was kinda unforgivable. back when i gave a shit about dan and serena, the thing that made me care less about them was when dan treated her pretty badly because she failed to live up to the image of her that he had built up for so long. it seemed like everything she did was wrong in his eyes and for a sensitve artist, he didn't seem to capture what serena was really all about. a girl in love (with him) and just didn't know what to do when roadblocks were presented. now, by the time in season two when chuck did that unspeakable thing with vanessa...dan disliked the guy. and vanessa, supposedly his best friend did what she did. and it was still way worse (or it should have been) then half of the things serena had done that he had given her crap for. ... the world is not just. so dan goes to the pointless pile.
vanessa, she has been pointless since she first appeared on screen. her whole 'i'm not as pretty or as rich or as fabulous as the rich girls and i've been in love with my best male friend for ever' has been done to death by joey potter and frankly joey did it better. but vanessa pretty much went from pointless to irrelevant in my book when she got with nate and ditched her entire schtick. good job.
jenny. okay so i actually don't consider jenny pointless. what i think she is is just acting her age, and there's nothing wrong with that. however, i have a little sister just like jenny and it irks me so she goes here. sorry.
nate, yeah.. pretty pointless. i mean i liked him in the first part of the season, the duchess thing was pretty solid. but he lost me when he dumped v (Good move on his part) for acting like blair then he went on to date blair and then fell in love with her (for real this time..or maybe 'for real' by his standards) when like for months on end he treated her pretty much like vermin for doing to him what he did to her.. doesn't that sound confusing? well it's pretty much nate.
i think i got the main characters down.. but it's all opinions. and just the way i see it.

I think the show needs Blair, Chuck, Serena, and Dan. Maybe Jenny. I think Vanessa is not needed, and Nate... well, I don't know about him, but I think the show could go on without him.

Nate can be confuse,and sometimes you be wondering if he only has one facial expression,but I guess his character just need to be more developed
But Vanessa,UGH. What she's still doing on the show? I mean,serious...
Terrible actress,terrible SL's,and,like those thing weren't enough,her only purpose on the show is ruin everbody's SL's,so...Yeah,get rid of her already

The show needs Blair, Chuck, Serena, Nate, Dan, Jenny.
Anyone else isn't needed & the show could go on without them.

i think, for me, the thing that makes nate seem kind of pointless is that for the most part he either has no storyline or he has a storyline that doesn't involve any of the other characters so it might as well not even exist.

Necessary:
Chuck, Blair, Serena, Eric, Jenny, Dan, Rufus, Lily, Eleanor, Cyrys, and Bart, when he was alive, Johnathan, and of course, Dorota. Oh wait - and Chuck's chauffer! Oh - and Georgina.
Unnecessary:
Vanessa, Nate, Nate's parents (ugh), the new kid Scott.
