Rational support for Dair

i think the problem with blair this season has been NYU, when her s/l isnt about it, she is pretty good. episodes 3x03, 3x05, 3x09, 3x11 and 3x12 she was pretty good. but 3x02, 3x06, 3x10, x304 were all pretty awfull. just keep her away from there

It's not just Dair supporters that get all antsy when being asked for explanations. In threads about just about anything there are always people that get pissy when asked to explain things. "WHy do you like Serena?" "I just do. Deal with it." "Why do you like Nair?" "Why do I have to explain?" It's a super annoying sort of reaction that just gets under my skin. If you don't want to discuss it, then don't go to a discussion forum, people!
I can see the logic in trying to make a less popular character more popular by making her like characters that are more popular, hence mixing in elements of Serena's wardrobe, Blair's scheming and mommy issues and Dan's...Dan-ness, but I think it has only made her less popular because it is taking time away from characters people care more about. And apparently involves rewriting her relationship with Dan.

lmao that sort of thing never bothered me. but what i really hate are double standards. and truthfully before you pointing it out i never noticed people's answers before. i always gravitated to the more universally friendly threads that aren't just about chair praising.

Well, I don't think people should have to be forced to come up with reasons, but that's why I think there are kind of two types of threads...discussion and squeeing. I think people should definitely be allowed to squee in peace. HOwever, when people only chime into an argument to try to win by numbers or by attacking/psychoanalyzing other people while not contributing or responding directly to the comments? That's my pet peeve. At least try to give the courtesy of responding to an argument if you're also going to try to tell me what my issues are.

Well, I think some poeople are assuming that I'm Dair shipper now, just because I have a Dair icon, and that's assuming a little too much. I've explained this b4, but I'll explain it again now: Up until this season I've been a huge Chair shipper, but I've increasing disatisfied with the lack of passion in Chair lately. Yeah, their scene at the hospital was great and it really showed me that Chuck's needs Blair (for emotional support) and that Blair is good for Chuck, but is Chuck good for Blair? I feel like she wants him more than he wants her this season and I hate that. And my disatisfaction with Chair as a couple may me why I open my mind up to the possibility of Dair, but it doesn't account for why I like seeing them in scenes together. Dan and Blair are funny in scenes together, in a light-hearted bantering kind of way. I like that. It's not angsty. It doesn't bore me. My mind mind doesn't jump from wanting to see them in scenes together to wanting to see them in bed together. But when I really think about it, I think it could really interesting and entertaining to see them kiss and stuff.
Provided Dan gets a haircut, and stops bragging about his sex life.However, I liked Dan more b4 he realized he was in love with Vanessa. If he continues down the Vanessa path, I will only like him less and less. I will not like Vanessa more just because Dan does. It doesn't work that way for me. Sorry writers. Go brainwash someone else into liking her.
