Season 2 is horrible

season 1 of gossip girl made me into a die hard fan of the show. i absolutely loved the whole series!!! but now its like, the plotlines are being recycled or ripped off from musicals, old movies, or even from an actress' personal life. where's the originality?? the only thing im still fond of is the witty dialogue. i missed blair's evil scheming (seriously her "take down" of ms. carr didnt live up to my expectations), disappointed with the wrong pairings, sad about finally realizing what a jerk dan is, and even missed chair's angst. why does season 2 always have to be bad? the storylines are getting kinda dull actually--and i was super excited when "summer kind of wonderful" came. sigh.

I've been happier with some episodes than others but am trying to refrain from judging S2 until it's complete.  The extra 7 episodes this season seem to have thrown the writers for a loop (can we say filler, anyone?).  I'm hoping that the next 8 will redeem S2.

this season is sort of falling apart due to lack of c and b interacting.  there was alot of it, but then it dwindled to nothing.  it's not like they have to dominate all the time, but at least give them something.  like it or not, they are a big part of the show now.  they can't just ignore each other.

i don't like stuff like the nanny thing.  seems random. oh well, at least c was kissing someone. he's so cute when he's an idiot.

also, having guest characters that everyone hates (like aaron, rachel carr) is a drag.  they just come and go predictably and it is getting dull.

but season one also had some c and b dry spells, and a few eps with no chuck whatsoever.  i think the overall quality of the show is the same in both seasons. i kind of like season 2 better, because the characters are a bit deeper and the stakes are higher. the characters are starting to think about the future more.

I agree that it has not been the best season, but I think it's a pretty good season 2. Usually seasons 2 are pretty lame in general, while the best ones are seasons 3 (in tv shows in general). I'm waiting too for the last 8 episodes, even if the breaks between eps are killing the tension. I think the writers were kind of hoping to have Aaron as a recurring character, but then neither the producers nor the fans liked him. I'm not saying this as a Chair fan, but for the sake of the whole show they need to sort Chair out, everyone is so obsessed with them and every new plot line falls unnoticed.

Ughhh, season 2 is not good because of the fact that they throw storylines at us, and then they don't finish them. It's like they have all these ideas to make the show as great as it was season one, but they can't.

Anyone ever see the OC? It had an awesome season one, an okay season two, an awful season three and I don't know about season four, because I didn't watch it (due to season three being so God-awful). Josh Schwartz has good set ideas, and then they just get lost along the way.

I think there's something wrong with this season. There's too drama, too sad people, too ridicolous things (secret society is the last one) too MIA characters, too guest stars.

I think if want to have a guest star you should at least give him a decent role, I mean, why make Eleanor get married if her husband has to disappear then? But this is only the last thing I have thought. Not to mention that Aaron is supposed to be Blair's brother, and where is he? Gone, he was a guest star. It makes absolutely no sense.

Chuck has been a desperate man since episode 5. He was a dandy, now he is a sort of dark man. Nate was one of the main characters, now he is a many-women-man and falls in love with everyone he sees. Oh and he rarely seems a friend of Chuck btw.

Blair seems a woman or an immature baby, she kind of has double persoality.

I'm waiting to see this season finish before giving a complete opinion, but now I am a little disappointed.

I wish that they would stop bringing in a new character, which invariably stays for 3 episodes then leaves forver never to be mentioned again. I just want some continuity!!!!!!

thank you! i feel the exact same way. i understand that the show is based off a book... so they're going to be unoriginal and steal storylines from that... but is it really nec. to steal storylines from the news, too?

occasionally, i'll admit, season 2 had some really good plot potential, but they just threw everything out the window for no reason at all.

aaron rose - while a boring character, they could have actually tried to make him NOT boring. there could have been interraction with blair (she's his stepsister and the only scene they were ever in was at their parents wedding??), they could have made him less of a "play boy" and his dad was AWESOME!! ahaha and... serena just broke up with him when she got on the plane????

serena as the bad girl - that was quick. i would have loved to REALLY watch serena be an actual bad girl for once

jenny and the mean girls - shortest.fight.ever

jack bass - um? hello? WHAT HAPPENED NEW YEARS EVE WITH BLAIR?!?!

chuck/blair - ANYTHING WITH THEM!!! they've made no progress this season... just screwed things up for no reason at all.

i could go on and on, but i won't. god. PUT YOUR CREATIVITY CAPS ON WRITERS. PLEASE.
