Umm Camilla, did you actually READ what I posted? I didn't even come CLOSE to saying you can't watch it if you're a virgin, I ASKED out of curiosity if these youngins are virgins? This show is about young girls sleeping with their bff's bf, and having affairs with mothers, and sleeping with 2 guys in one week. YES, there's lots of sex!

My 13/14 and most likely 15 year old daughter will not be allowed to watch these shows on my watch. Why? Becasue there IS sex in this show (not on screen but it comes damn close). Not only sex, how about the drugs? No thanks. Aside from sex, my 14yr old daughter will not be watching a show where highschoolers go to clubs and drink, and spend big bucks on crap like that; she will learn all this through her own life experiences, yes these things might be on her mind (hopefully not quite yet) but I will not willingingly expose her to such fake imitations of life.

Side note: no, I'm not a old and no I don't have a daughter.

Vmec, I am sorry but the virgin question didn't need to be asked. Sex happens. I just think that younger girls watch this show the same way we watched our shows when we were their age. It is not like we or these other girls act like the characters. I still love you though because you can hold up a debate very well. I am sorry but Mary you are the one who posted this thread. You posted it in one freakin sentence and didn't even back up your reasoning. It just seems like you started letting everyone talk for you.

Perhaps it didn't have to be asked- again it was out of curosity... And well only one girl actaully responded.

I do stand though that I personally find this show a little over the top for my (future) 13 yr old daughter to watch. I guess I was really sheltered growing up but Saved by the bell was what I was watching.

Where I live, [in the U.K] it might suprise you to know that teen sex happens alot more than it does in the U.S, it's more to do with the fact that alcohol laws are alot looser [we do 18 instead of 21, but people MUCH younger than that can buy it illegaly if you go to certain shops.] And i'm proud to say i'm still a virgin at 13, alot of people I know aren't, but they haven't affected my opinion of whats right and wrong and neither will gossip girl.

Well the laws in Canada are nearly as loose as the UK. Here, we do 19 as legal to drink, but legally you are an adult when you hit 18.

Vmec, you never learn, the rules in my life are much dfrnt. I watch GG cuz it's interesting, and there is a hot guy, and there is an alpha dog on the show, so shush.

I will allow my 14 yr old(If I have one sometime) to watch GG cuz it's PG-13 not rated R. So quit being miss bossy.

Well, Kellie, you're younger than me by one year, that is quiet interesting. Here is some advice: don't have Vmec get to you, tell her to shut up or take her down, like what I'm doing cuz there is justice in my "Blair" world.

Blair has been my favorite character since the beginning, besides Chuck, I heart him.

I'm much more mature for my age, too.

Vmec, I know that there is drugs on this show, but not that much. I watched CBS's Swingtown, and there were quaaludes on there, and strip poker. And I watch 2 soap opereas, Y&R and Passions. And I kinda got bossy with my parents on Friday. So that is my proof that I'm much mature than you think. FYI, I won't drink, do drug, or do any stuff that is related to that. I know the stuff about the privates on the male and female, so I'm not much of a little kid, and I hate being called that.

Mary what you watch is up to you okay. But cmon! How do you call yourself mature when you say you act bossy with your parents like you just said? Mature people treat their parents with respect. We are just saying that our cultures are different. If Vmec was sheltered as a child it is probably natural for her to wonder why 14 years to watch this show. But lets face it. They do.

Kellie, her is a piece of advice from a person 11 years older then you. Keep on liking blair like you do but keep an open mind about the other side to. Debate and think for youself. Don't shut people down and tell them to shut up.
