The Chuck/Serena thread
-
Its been a while since I have spread a little cherena love so here is a new one shot of herena as sibilings and friends which I thought was very sweet.
Brothers and sisters are as close as hands and feet.

When Serena opened her eyes she found Chuck hovering in the doorway, an unreadable expression on his face. There was something simply unnerving about his uncertainty. Chuck never waited for permission to enter a room but simply strode in as if he owned the building (which was quite often the case).
But as far as she knew he didn't own this hospital. He didn't like hospitals. She had watched him pull away from her rather than remain present when the doctors turned off Bart's life support.
Chuck was never going to like hospitals.
"Hey."
She smiled at him gently, the intricate movements of her facial muscles enough to pull at the angry gash on her forehead. She barely noticed the pain as he tentatively stepped inside.
"You okay?" she asked because he didn't look okay. She wasn't sure why but she assumed he must have been worried and she was still angry at herself for getting into such a situation that would cause her family such distress. Chuck was family now. That was still a revelation of sorts.
He moved to the chair by her bed and sat down. It wasn't long since Nate had left to get a shower and a change of clothes, at Serena's insistence because he hadn't been home since the accident. She was so grateful to have him there but all the warm, fuzzy feelings that his presence would always generate were now horribly tainted by a thick cloud of guilt. She was such a fuck-up. Chuck was the responsible one amongst them now.
"I should ask you," he said quietly with none of his usual sarcasm.
"I'm fine."
"Good."
His eyes darted from the gash on her forehead to the IV line in her arm to the heart monitor that still bleeped incessantly to remind her, in case the pounding headache wasn't enough, that she was still very much alive. It was sort of comforting.
"Are you okay?" she asked again and his eyes finally moved back to meet hers.
"Long night."
"Yeah."
"Yesterday," he began then stopped, swallowing slightly and unnerving Serena even more with his strange, un-Chuck-like behaviour.
"It was a year since Bart died."
Serena barely noticed the rapid increase in the bleeping from the heart monitor, although she was acutely aware of her own heart beating within her chest. Selfish bitch. Selfish fucking bitch. How could she fail him so many times?
She wiped pathetically at the tears as they started to fall, having already cried to herself intermittently during the night but only out of her own vain sense of self pity. And the whole sorry mess was just a storm with Serena at its core, the usual sorry story of helpless civilians (and married congressmen) sucked into her blonde tornado of destruction.
"Oh Chuck."
"Don't feel sorry for me Serena," he warned, grabbing her wrist and pulling her hand away from her face. "That's not why I'm here."
"Then why?" she said, looking down at his hand around hers and still feeling like the worst person on the entire planet.
He let go and dropped his gaze, glancing to the side at a blank spot on the wall. "I… I wanted to make sure you were okay."
"I…"
I'm not, she didn't say. She didn't know what to say to this Chuck who cared so much, who acted like her brother when she deserved no such sentiment.
"What?"
"I don't know, okay? I don't know anything! I don't know what I'm doing anymore and I'm so sorry I wasn't there for you. My timing sucks!"
"Yes it does," he said and there was just the smallest hint of a Chuck Bass smirk.
She reached for his hand and he let her take it, his fingers unmoving as she wrapped hers around them. She studied their hands bound together, swinging them gently between them, and she remembered ice cream in Central Park and cutting classes and her very first joint and running from nightclubs before they checked for id; she remembered incriminating pictures never making their way onto Gossip Girl and midnight scotch as she cried about Georgina, unconditional kindness to her little brother as he was thrown out of the closet and cold, harsh vengeance upon those who plotted against them. She remembered truffle oil toasted cheese with hidden agendas and letting go too soon when he couldn't handle his grief.
They never held hands when they were meant to and they were always treading on each other's toes but maybe that was all that could be expected.
"The very worst!"
"I wouldn't expect anything less."
She looked up at him and smiled because there would always be something between them that was separate from everything else, a shared experience that nobody else would ever fully understand. And they had both made horrendous mistakes and hurt each other and those around them terribly. Sometimes they were two sides of the same coin, which was different from Chuck and Blair who were both the same side and Serena and Blair who were two separate halves and Nate who was the lucky penny she was always losing and finding again (she was going to remember to make a wish this time).
"Thank you," she whispered and let go of his hand.
"For what?" he murmured back, his eyes still fixed on his now liberated fingers.
"Stuff. Things." Everything.
"I'm relieved to see that the concussion didn't affect your usual rhetorical prowess."
"Shut up Chuck," she said, smiling.
He smiled back. "So… what are you going to do about the fact that Nathaniel is in love with you?"
"Oh my God and you said my timing sucked!"
She was such a fuck-up. But around her brother she never had to pretend to be anything else.

i wish they still lived together
Well i think from the Sneak Peeks where S & N were eating each other off it is clear that NJBC are all living together at Chuck's place so u get ur wish :-)
Though one question for anyone who is interested, why is Serena staying at the Waldorfs still, why isn't she back with her family?????????

I don't think they're all gonna live together just from one episode. I think Serena will probably move back home in the next few episodes. She probably needed so time to clear her mind from everything so she stayed at the Waldorfs where she knew she wouldn't be bothered.

I know. The possibility of Serena/Chuck was one of my favorite things Season 1, and I was so upset when I realised that the writers had ruined any chance of it ever happening and still being good.

Cruel Intentions. Why not? You know Chuck would be up to it, he even told Serena so. It would be hot. I ship CB, and I kind of always wanted Bart and Eleonor to be married so they could have a relationship like Katryn and Sebastian in the movie.

I used to ship them before CB happened. They had great sexual chemistry. But now I dont think CS would make sense. I think GG's writes made a big mistake when it comes to the couples. There were so many possibilities in season 1, couples that now would make no sense but at the time could be great. But instead they just decided to follow with CBN triangle and Dan/Serena.

Blair: Just because we can't be together doesn't mean I don't love you.
